Ho-hum...aging player at the most physical position in the sport. The end will be soon and sudden. Kind of reminds me of the Thomas Davis signing a few years ago. Without knowing numbers at all, I would think Tranq is still the better fit but in the process we trust!

So was Takeo Spikes when he became a Charger.

Kendricks is one of the better linebackers in the league. He can do what Tranquil does in the blitzing department. He is good in coverage, which helps when it comes to pass coverage.

I still want something better than Kenneth Murray and to take his place. At least make him work for the starting ILB spot.

Dru was an ok LB, nothing special. I wouldn't go beyond 6 mil a year for him so I don't blame them.
Singleton got 6 mil a year and he is a tackling machine.

I read somewhere that he was looking to get above 7.5 APY…honestly I think he’s worth it, but the way that the NFL has devalued the LB position similar to how they have devalued the RB position is total bullshit…welcome to the NFL where we create a pyramid scheme with QBs, WRs, and Edge players getting most of the fucking pie…I can’t help but wonder what Seau would say?

As for the kendricks deal being a two year deal, it’s probably closer to a 1 year deal and he’s getting most of that money up front, the second year just helps to spread the cap hit so when he gets cut in 2024 he’ll have a 4-5mil dead cap hit, but he can go look for another signing bonus…he’s probably making 9 mil in year one alone, maybe more, I’ll be interested to see how they structured the deal…

With that kind of layout, first year cap hit is probably 4 to 5. He gets like 7m guaranteed or something. And like Mack and Allen, will worry about next year, next year.

He might not be the defender in the passing game Dru was - but he is a better tackler in the run game. Which was sorely lacking last year. Singleton was a tackling machine but a solid move
