TREY PIPKINST, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS Chargers re-signed RT Trey Pipkins to a three-year contract.
He'll make $7.25 million per year. Hanging on to Pipkins was reportedly a priority for the Chargers. Struggling through various injuries over the past couple seasons, Pipkin is one of the league's worst run-blocking tackles, according to Pro Football Focus grades. He was graded last season as the NFL's 57th best pass-blocking tackle. The Chargers must see something we don't. He'll rejoin an LA offensive line rated by PFF as the league's 13th worst pass-blocking unit.

Offensive tackles get paid. Pipkins showed major improvement last season, and stayed on the field through several injuries. The dropoff when he couldn't play was substantial. I don't have an issue with the money. We may well look back on this as a very reasonable contract.

I'll take his medium over a draft picks maybe. Depth now to C and the O line. Guys like Voorhees, Curtis and maybe Scruggs. According to reports we have scouted Curtis hard. We need a few Swiss army knives off the bench. Malfi from UCLA is another nice piece.....a real nasty kid with a background in rugby I believe.
