To take it a step further, our 3rd down defense is the single most important aspect of our defense that needs to improve this season for the overall team D to take a step forward. The NB is a crucial part of that defense.

It's my opinion that, with the exception of the impact by the quarterback and some superstars who make a difference from other positions, the game is generally won or lost at the line of scrimmage. Backup D linemen don't usually sit on the bench for entire games even if the starters are healthy. And, on top of that, I'm not counting on all 3 of our D line starters making it through the entire season.

I'm not disputing that fact at all, I agree in fact. I just don't see how a backup DL is more important than a player that's getting 50-55% of the defensive snaps. If you were talking about our starting DL, then it's a different conversation. We will agree to disagree.

He's better than what they had on the roster. Decent is debatable. You have Patrick who was released by the worst secondary in 2012. And Marshall that was released by a piss poor Phins secondary last week.

Or where yo being deliberately unclear for some other reason?
