He’s a really balanced player, he’s exactly the type of DT that staley covets, staley wants guys that can stay on the field for all 3 downs…and matlock has that type of potential…he’s also got the right type of build for a DT, a huge ass and thighs and big boned thick legs so he’s not a top heavy guy with spindly chicken legs…he will need to continue developing his technique but I’m not worried, he is one of those kids that wants to be a great player…the guy has a motor and he plays angry, our depth on the d-line got better for sure…

I think he’s instantly better than most if not all of the 2nd string. with upside possibility …

I think after watching his highlights and other clips he's an excellent fit for what we need. He'll be a great rotational guy maybe more who knows. DL depth addition which is exactly what we needed.

It was a very intelligent responsible draft with solid value picks all round and potential to be one of the best charger drafts of the last decade…we might’ve stolen the best WR of the entire draft…johnston has the potential to become devonte adams type special…that alone would make this draft, the rest is just bonus frosting…

I can see that. He's got a ways to go but he's got the agility and suddenness in a big frame to be a DA.
                great comp for his ceiling.

I have a feeling all 4 WRs are going to have big success (Seattle, LAC, Balt and Minnesota) by the time their 2nd contract is up.

                Edit: sorry for going OT.

How many IDL is Staley going to carry on the active gameday? Matlock should push OO (Otio Ogbonnia) and the others who are competing for the interior defense positions.

as good an influence as staley has been in building this roster, his gameday roster management has been infuriating at times, and the team has paid a steep price for his recklessness, there are many instances of malpractice over his two seasons (MW back injury) as coach that I'm not going to recap them here but IMO, those decisions have cost the chargers at least two wins over the last couple of seasons and the worst part of it was that he didn't seem to learn a fucking thing from 2021 in 2022
