The Nigerian Nightmare was Christian Okoye.

This guy's ceiling is probably as The Nigerian Nocturnal Emission.

I think they bumped it up to 16 due to covid losses on rosters and then the owners decided to keep it around after covid…but the IPP players come with their own special PS roster spot guaranteed…

okoye, is considered the one guy coming out in this years class with a chance to stick around, he happens to be the youngest in the bunch and yet his body is considered NFL ready right now, he just turned 21 years old last fall and is 6’6” 315 pounds with 34 1/2” arms and high cut body of lean muscle mass, he basically looks like a bigger Roman Oben for those that remember how fit Oben was even though he weighed around 290-305 pounds in that range…they erroneously classified him as a DL on the list but he plays offensive tackle…some people think he has the potential to become the next jordan mialata…

he’s young, he’s raw, but he has the tools of a legit high round pick…instantly he is probably the most physically gifted offensive tackle on the chargers roster…the chargers were basically handed a 2nd-3rd round draft choice and now it’s up to them to mold him into a player…

me, I’d rather carry a guy like this on the roster than keep Jaimes just because he was a 5th round draft pick…okoye would most likely be inactive most of his first year but he’d also be learning from a fantastic group of guys…I don’t think he would last on the PS, someone would poach him, he’s too physically talented for other teams to resist, legit 315 pounders with that athletic profile, yeah, it’s irrelevant that he comes with his own PS spot because he wouldn’t last on the PS…hopefully the chargers appreciate the opportunity that they’ve been given here, I’d hate to have another wes welker situation…
He should have gone to a high major for a year to get game experience. Could he start for Alabama or Ohio State?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

We do not play modern football.

          We can only hope.

Darren Bennett was the answer at the Chargers' punting position for about a decade. How awesome is *that*, to get a guy out of nowhere, who eliminates the need to even THINK about upgrading his position?

Jebus, the 49ers appear to have found Brock Purdy in the Nowhere Pile! How huge is *that*? A ridiculous find at a team's most crucial position?!?

If the Bolts can get some solid BEEF depth from the UDFA ranks, it'll be a significant thing.

Does the old saying "never stare a gift horse in the mouth" mean anything to you? Almost seems like you are disappointed or complaining, why? The NFL is gifting the chargers the best IPP prospect in years, this guy has legit potential and you give a fuck if he could start for Alabama? what am I missing here?

Because I believe playing experience counts when you get to the pros. The NFL is not a training ground, it’s where near finished products come.

You don't just throw guys away just because you don't like them. Staley is the one making the decisions. He knows best and sees whether Jaimes has improved or not.

Will Okoye prove himself and make more difference than someone like Otito Ogbonnia? OO, who barely showed us what he could do last year before going down to injury.

and I believe that when you get cool free stuff it makes no sense to complain about it...

the eagles seem to be doing pretty good with Jordan mailata also an IPP guy with no previous American Football Experience, we've seen guys with no college football experience excel over the years, if they have the physical tools to do the job they can learn how to play football...and this new okoye kid has the right tools...

the guy being mentioned here christian okoye played played like what 10 games at azusa pacific before the chiefs drafted him? Ray Seals back in the day never played college football, Eric Swann didn't play college football and neither did Antonio gates...these Nigerian kids are being scouted, taught, and trained at special football academies, some of them have the academic background to enter a university and some of them don't...

who was the guy that was beer delivery truck driver and became a return specialist for the saints? I can't remember his name, the guy from Philly that played for the eagles they even made a move about him...

darren bennett was an Australian rules football player and he not only picked up the American punting game but he also revolutionized punting as we know it...he perfected a variety of punting techniques that have since become the norm in American football...
