Who cares about ROT if you have a smokin hot receiver who gets us an additional TD every game. Deep drafts are only good for teams picking late in the first. If we move down to #11-13 I'd still take thomas as I see him as direct replacement for Williams. Now you can play with #23 or #37 for tackle.

Jeremiah's point is that there are very few elite or even above average O-linemen after round 1, but that there are more wideouts. Now having said that, if we draft MH2 or Odunze @#5, I'd be good with that also...

#23 is still the first round.

Chargers met with Ainias Smith. Here is Steve Smith's take on him:

Okay, so if we do get both #11 and #23, we have the opportunity go get BOTH an elite wideout and a solid O-lineman...one of the things Jeremiah said was that he thinks the Bolts go O-line first, then look at wideout on day 2...

I just looked at Jeremiahs top 50 -- his first OL is at 8 and thats Alt. So drafting Alt at 5, unless somehow Nabers, Odunze, and MHjr are taken in the top 4 - would be a mistake. Bowers is even ahead of Alt. So for the Chargers to draft OL - that means trading back as I don't think Jeremiah passes on better players to fill OT

Granted, if Hortiz has Alt ranked above the WRs and Bowers - thats different

Chargers also met with Brendan Rice. Skilled route runner. Manipulates defenders to create space.

Sounds like Smith is another DD...smallish at 5-9, 190#, punt returner...

Dad is Jerry Rice, so good bloodlines there...could be good value on day 2 or possibly day 3...

They also met with Anthony Gould... another WR that has good punt return abilities (and small).
Good route runners not afraid to run slants. Good change of speed... gets separation. Blitz beaters... get deep quick off play-action.
One scout said Gould reminds him of Roman Wilson.

You have to have a dance partner.

If the Vikings don't like McCarthy, a trade down pretty much implodes.

Greg Cosell says that half the NFL GMs are not wild about McCarthy.
