agree.... im surprised he is still available?..... must mean he wanted too much money.... but even minimum wage in NFL is way way higher than what most of us citizens earn.....

If Simmons wants close to what he made last year, that would be around $15 mil...a bit too much for us...if he's willing to go to about half that with incentives, it's possible but would be tight. Here's some other available FS FA's:

Consider me not sold. It is nice to see the guy working after last season when he was above staying after practice and working on JUGs machine with established veterans Mike and Keenan, but I need to see him get open and catch the ball against NFL CBs in games when it counts.

I know we are excited about the draft but i am not sure it is that over crowded. 7th rounders often end up on practice squad. Can we say definitively Josh Palmer is better than Tyler Boyd? Palmer doesnt have 2 1000 yard seasons under his belt.

a lot of safeties were released in March prior to free agency

almost like running back - a devalued position in the NFL I have read

that said, still surprised he was not signed back in normal free agency in March - unless he totally was asking for way too much money

Good safeties can really help out the shaky cbs on this team.

I'd rather bring in Simmons than Boyd, if those two are options.

I’m not sure we have one. Both Alt and Salyer can play LT, let Salyer can move out to RT and bring in a backup G. We’ll see what the plan is moving forward, but I doubt it includes an $8 mill backup.

Salyer at swing sounds fine.

Bigger issue, now that we have Alt, is OG. We have both in house options (including Trey, why not put him in the mix), and a couple UDFA. Just let the best earn the spots, both starting and backups.

I don’t know Salyer is better swing tackle but I’m ok with him as swing if he’s not already the starting RG. All things equal I’d rather have one Swing that can drop in either side vs having to shift OG to OT, then swing in a new OG … etc - more moving pieces is not better all things equal. That said - Brandon and Crew were far too reluctant to move an OL player and far too devoted to the “continuity” theme of never moving an OT to OG or OG to OT imo. Jmo, once they put a guy somewhere they seemed scared shitless to ever try something different even when what they had wasn’t working well.

We need Pipkins on the roster to put him in any mix. im happy to see him compete at OG, best man wins.

When I look at the roster - I think depth at S is a bigger need than WR

But will trust JH2 to make the right call

But Boyd at say 5m for one year or Simmons at $7m - probably taking Simmons
