The center experiement needs to end NOW and get James snaps so he can legitimately compete with Bozeman to see if the team can get better center play this year than last.

To be honest, there is a chance that Zion doesn't even start at all at this point. Even Kaltenberger, our UDFA C looked better in his snaps than Zion did. I can see Salyer overtaking Zion at LG this season if he can't make a run of it at C.

and we just made our LT the highest paid OL, and the 2 guys next to him on the OL are still question marks after a preseason game. NY steak and then 2 cheap burgers.

LG / C and letting Poona Ford go are still the biggest off-season head scratchers to me - especially because we have cap space.

I hope they do. There's a lot of other places on the field for us to attack. That'll be good drill.

The problem is, if Bozeman and Zion are sieves in the middle against good defensive fronts again like last year, good teams will just attack that weakness and Herbert will have guys in his face all day.

The R side B gap with Mekhi and Alt is an upgrade over same hole with Pipkins and rookie Alt. big time.
I strongly suspect that Hampton will be more consistently productive than Dobbins and that anyone is better than Gus.
Then there's the probability that multiple quality TE/ WR receivers will loosen D run coverages.

And the OL WILL play better. With last year for a bad example, that's a low bar to clear and we have improved talent by 20% at least.
