I heard a rumor on PFT that Kroenke might make a play at John Elway to take over football operations, as Elway's deal in Denver ends in 2017. That shouldn't affect the choice of the next HC, but may have to be open to the possibility that he could get canned no matter what his record is after 2017.

Only way I'd see Elway moving is if they gave him a small minority ownership in the team. Otherwise, he is the king in Denver and can do whatever he wants.

I don't see Elway leaving for LA either, but I do see Elway maybe thinking about just moving on to a different thing, since he's done all he can do with Denver, other than total NFL team ownership. Grudging respect for Mr. Donkey, until there is evidence that he cheated to the top... some smoke there but no actual fire, yet (and I won't blame him for the salary cap cheating back in the day.)
