    Still doubt it...but who knows

They can solve the tight end situation for the next 8 years with a draft pick who could be a better receiver off the bat.
Their blocking will take some time even for Warren and might never get there.

It depends on how highly you value a tight end that you could select, or even move up for.
That 4rth could come in handy, or just sit there and select the best player available.

Either way, I'm fine with it.

Would John Harbaugh sell Jim a lemon?

If we trade for Andrews, do we have to pay the bonus he's set to make on Monday?

        I would guess yes.

If the Chargers trade for him, one imagines they assume all aspects of the contract.

They had Mahommes and Jones restructure to free up some space (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/c...ce-per-report/)

Now THERE's a reason to make the trade on Tuesday...

Usually, you give the player something else (extension) and they waive the roster bonus. But since it is the last year of his deal, they might just pay it.

My guess is if we were going to try and trade a decent pick (4th rounder mentioned) we would go ahead and try and extend him, so we could get rid of that bonus during the negotiations. He might not be thrilled about his bonus going away or salary going down, but giving him a new signing bonus over several years and more guaranteed money overall, can make up for it.

For older players, I don't think anyone really expects the beginning of the league year bonuses to get paid. They are intended to force teams to make their decision about the player earlier. Nothing is worse for a player to be cut after June 1st when teams have little/no money left under the cap.

Andrews is not outperforming his contract anymore. His cap number with the Ravens is ~$17 mill, and OTC values him at $8.7 mill. His base salary is $7 mill, and the bonus is $4 mill, so a cap hit of $11mill if we pay the bonus, and $7 mill without.

To add to the complication, Baltimore has Isaiah Likely as their other TE. He started off hot, but then cooled off as Andrews recovered from his knee, and now you are splitting the stats among 2 guy and like it or not, their production is how teams judge value. So, the Ravens need to figure out if Likely and Charlie Kollar (and their WR) can replace Andrews production next season.

Id wait for them to cut him. Not paying a bonus, not giving up a pick,.... they need the cap space..

Assuming there is even 1 offer from any team, he's not getting cut.
but ya I don't like the idea of being responsible for the bonus.
Not a huge bonus but still, when you stack it all together (pick, contract, bonus, possibly extension, 30 years old, poor playoff performance(s)
starting to lean towards Goedert or draft.

                    Goedert is injury prone.
                    Mark Andrews is diabetic.

From those 2 players it is Andrews by a mile. He knows the system, knows Roman. During Roman's years as OC in Bal, Andrews was 1st AP, and 2x PB.

It is the best possible fit there is for pass catching weapon. Easily worth 4th Rd.

They are pretty similar players. Goedert might be the better blocker but both would be upgrades. Neither also takes Loveland off the board or TE.

My guess, the Goedert trade would happen post June 1 - but Roseman is a good GM and would handle the cap implications

My trade for both would be the Chargers 5th rounder at best. Not giving up the 4th unless either team flips a 5th rounder back to the Chargers.

Guilty as Charged guy Tyler suggested swapping 1sts - no way in hell I do that before I see who is on the board at 22

If the Ravens don't want to push cap in the future, they trade Andrews, or release him

But they have plenty of ways to get cap space and keep Andrews
