I think some analysts are starting to see it the way we do.

Los Angeles Chargers 'bully' their way into top 10 spot in NFL power rankings

    Randy Gurzi| 7 Hours Ago
The Los Angeles Chargers finished with an 11-6 record in 2024, which was their first season under head coach Jim Harbaugh.

This year, hopes are even higher after they spent the offseason building the team to his liking. That included adding a power running back in free agency, Najee Harris, and one of the top backs in the NFL draft, Omarion Hampton. They also added a bulldozer at guard, coming to terms with Mekhi Becton.

MORE: Justin Herbert oddly targeted by former Chargers teammate

All their moves led to a top 10 spot in Bleacher Report's latest NFL power rankings, where Maurice Moton says they "plan to bully their way" into the postseason.

"Apparently, the Chargers plan to bully their way back to the playoffs, and they're built to snatch the AFC West crown away from the Kansas City Chiefs, who have won the division for nine consecutive seasons."

"In Year 1 under head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers won 11 games and went to the playoffs with the No. 1-scoring defense and an offense that ranked 11th in scoring. With the additions on the offensive side of the ball, look for Los Angeles to compete for the No. 1 seed in the AFC." —Moton
Harbaugh has had success everywhere he's coached, so we know his philosophies work. Now, Chargers fans can watch to see if it's enough for them to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    Let’s win one for Mack.

Superficial means it happened to someone else.

The Chargers found a gem in wide receiver Ladd McConkey last year, as he recorded 82 receptions for 1,149 receiving yards in his rookie season. But those team-leading stats could be seen as alarming figures for a thin WR room that struggled down the stretch. Los Angeles brought back Mike Williams this offseason and selected Tre Harrisand KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the draft. Alongside Quentin Johnston, who struggled with drops last year, the pecking order of Justin Herbert's targets remains to be seen but training camp will provide a better glimpse of who will step up on the outside.
Do we really want “the little guy” going for 82/1149 again. Or as Ekeler used to say, I’m looking for someone else to step up and take some carries.

i think it would be nice to spread that ball around a lot more this year. And still pass to McConkey when a play has to be made.

I wouldn't necessarily just feed him the ball but would not be afraid to. Lance Alworth was the same size and had 7 consecutive 1,000 yd seasons.
They are not the same person, true but who is to say Ladd is not his equal?
I wouldn't steer the game away from him. I believe that McConkey is a special player. Work with what he brings.Let the others earn their chances.

I wouldn't just feed, nor would I shy from the feed - as you note. I would feed others if for nothing else than that when we get to the next playoffs teams won't design their defensive plan to double team him all over the field again.

I'd caution that the players Lance played against were smaller, slower and weaker than 2025 NFL defenders that Ladd faces.

Smaller, slower, weaker? Some yes, others not so much. It wasn't like no one out there could hurt him. Lance was tough, fast and agile.
Opponents today have to double Ladd to cover him. Maybe he's tougher, faster and more agile than Lance. Not totally serious but he is no easy job for today's DBs.
Anyway, more capable receivers and a solid run game should make us kinda formidable.
