Wow, a lot of people hitting the panic button on Day 1.
Most people wanted Joey gone and Mack back. That happened.
Some people thought bringing Bozeman back as depth was a good idea. That happened.
Fulton @CB was 50/50 as a re-sign. It looks like they got a good replacement.
The only disappointment thus far for me was losing Poona. But I liked that they brought back Tart.
There are still some very good free agent guards out there.

The Rimington Award winner could be available in the 4th or 5th round... we have an experienced center to hold the position for him as he heals and learns. The draft is always the best way to build a team. Zion @LG, McLaughlin @center, and Zeitler @RG. That would be fabulous!

Najee was not my choice. I wanted Dobbins back. But, Najee is a guy that is physical and is rarely injured. That was probably a really smart move. I don't think they're done @RB. Najee is a 1-year signee... they will still be looking for their long-term starter in the draft. Sundays will be brutal for the opposing team's defense.

RB, TE, and WR are very deep in this draft. There are still IOL and IDL free agents. Let's see what Joe does over the next month. Joe let everyone blow their wad early... now, we are the team with the most cap money. Time to cook.
    Protect the QB
    Run the ball
    Play great defense

i think they will get WR and OG today.. at least I hope
Andre James at center would be better than Boze
lastly Pipkins could be cap savings too

chargers really haven’t used much 2026 cap yet
Unfortunately I don’t think they would have signed Bozeman if they were signing James. I’d really wonder WTF they are doing if they did that.
And not releasing Pipkins is also concerning at this point.

The anti-pipkins sentiment is weird....For this year his cost is back-up money if compared to a top guard at $20 mil per season. I get it as I don't think his body can handle a full season and function well. If we get 10 games a season of reasonable back-up then who cares. We have 9 positions to fill and he's one of nine.

That one at the end of the day just pisses me off, like he’s fucking with us. He then lost his best DT.

We literally have more needs now than before he woke up Monday.

he needs to upgrade SOMETHING via free agency. Not stack up 30 average value players - actually UPGRADE SOMETHING. I understood when he was at -60M cap, I do not understand when he’s at +100M cap. He cannot build a team solely through the draft, prior picks will leave by the time new ones get here. He will be so far under cap he’ll just be forced by CBA to pay out bonuses to average players he didn’t want to pay. Meanwhile all the good teams get better.

Maybe he is zeroing in on some IOL, which is what I wanted him to do. Becton was near the top of my list, that would be great. but two of the main OCs are off the board, and one or two OGs are off, and we’ve seen nothing yet. We shall see.
Agree that Boze is a head-scratcher...but Harris and Jackson are solid signings...I still think we sign at least one IOL and draft a couple more...

Its a nice consolation prize, it is not the Golden Ticket. My point is we should not be basing our entire roster strategy on getting a 6th or 7th round pick NEXT YEAR when we need players today, this season.

There is a chance Hortiz wanted to try to let the G market settle a bit after the explosion yesterday.
But he’s not getting out of paying for these players and I don’t even think he’s trying to not pay necessarily. I think he just simply wasn’t prepared for what was going to happen. It surprised everyone in the media. He’s paid to be ready for those moments though.

I really think this means Hortiz was serious about trying Zion at center and Bozeman is a fallback. If Zion can’t handle a basic stunt at guard I have a really hard time seeing him calling defenses and playing center.

Becton might be a little cheaper. I’m trying to be positive but it’s not gonna be pretty. I just don’t see it now.
Im hoping and hope is not a plan, but I’m hoping at this point that teams shy away from Becton and they can get him slightly cheaper…
Aaron Banks completely blew up the market.
                      Fries signed

looks like Jenkins Scherff or Becton

I am fine not releasing Pipkins but he can’t be the starting RG
                        back up OT at best
                        but that’s not worth 6.75m

ok, thanks. i actually like the Jammer to Safety metaphor, but thanks.

the problem i see with that plan, is that Zion and Bozeman appeared to be partners in crime on completely misreading blocks.
