The Chargers are still not as talented as the Lions, Holmes, Campbell, and the Lions have a 3 year head start on Hortiz and Harbaugh, and they have built that Detroit roster in their image...with how quickly Hortiz has turned this roster around I drool thinking what the team is going to look like in another year yet alone another two, it took the Lions 3 seasons to get to double digit wins and a playoff spot, something that the Chargers did in Harbaugh's first year...

Our defense was on par with the Superbowl champs year 1 after the Staley fiasco...Even a nice boost to our offense will make us scary good.

it feels odd to run it back with those 2 guys, no matter what order they are in. it would be great to upgrade at least one of them.

I don't think there were a lot of options in FA or the draft that were obvious upgrades. For that reason, I'm okay with building depth and kicking the can't down the road to next season. But it's also okay for fans to point out that the line may still be an issue and the team brought this on themselves with their talk about the importance of the OL while failing to make major changes to improve this glaring need.

This I don't get. You admit there weren't a lot of options to improve center and left guard in free agency or the draft. They signed Becton to take care of the right guard spot, so obviously they were willing to make the move if they thought it was right. How did Hortiz and Harbaugh "bring this on themselves" if they didn't feel there was anything better than what they had? Should they have passed on Omarion Hampton or Tre Harris and reached for an interior offensive lineman they weren't as high on?

They have the money and they could still pick up guys like Scherff or Hernandez...or they could still make a move with a team that is looking to cut expensive veteran for younger player and won't ask for top of the line compensation...the offseason is not over and the roster is not set in stone, not with Hortiz, he did it last year and he'll do it again in the future, if they are not happy with what they have then changes will be made, we might read that a free agent is coming in for a workout or maybe before the Final Cut deadline a move will take place, it's still too soon to assume that they are committed to Bozeman and Johnson for 2025...

Good points. Hortiz will liikely do something before the Chiefs and Chris Jones in week 1 if this isn't the answer.

As I said i think this is a lot about Zion. Very puzzling player, strong as hell, athletic, real book smart...but just cant put it together overall on the field mainly because of his recognition skills. I think they are tying to unlock Zion one last time after not picking up his option.
