I’m pretty sure that as a vested veteran Denzel would not have been subject to waivers…but he would’ve been free to sign with anyone. They didn’t cut him because they still want him on the roster. They could’ve or should’ve IRed him with one of the two initial destined to return destinations…why they wasted a valuable destination on Matlock is only for Harbaugh to answer. Matlock has pull with coach…"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. McDaniel is "head coach of the offense". He intends to use him or Matlock would have been cut. The idea that Coach likes Matlock more than winning a SB is pure A Bullshit. Every roster spot counts.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

even us casually watching the preseason from the couch can see that he has close to zero role in this type of offense and it’s not like he was tearing it up under Roman either…
Hortiz is not going to go against his coaches, they want him so he’ll be on the roster once he heals up…after the season is over I’m certain there’ll be healthy discussion as to whether or not the roster spot could have been put to better use…
we have a great squad so I’m not going to get hung up over one roster spot…"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Ironic, the Padres got a stadium, right near the waterfront. I always thought the Chargers were much more popular. I don't fault the Spanos'. If I could make my business 100% more valuable moving from SD to LA, I'd do it.Originally posted by ChargingBolts View Post
San Diego was the Mayor Faulkners fault, but even in San Diego because it is a transient vacation city had a lot of opposing fans like L.A., Phoenix, Vegas, etc.
It didn't make a whole lot of difference to me, considering I moved to the Midwest in '90.
My older brother was pretty disturbed by the move, even though he moved from SD to LA to practice law

I thought they should have released Matlock in the Spring. Again, good guy - well it seems he is. Good worker. Has done everything asked . But we don't see a natural fit at any ONE positionOriginally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

They can hire him as an assistant he’s already vested for the pension, correct?Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

If we want YACOriginally posted by Boltjolt View Post
Well i dont know if Matlock shows up some days with breakfast Burritos unannounced and that is a possitive locker room vibe or maybe he plays a Ukulele after practice in the locker room for good vibes only, but if he doesnt......i have no problem trading or cutting him. Theres no way Matlock moves better, more fluid and catches better than Herberts brother as a #4 TE or FB.
I calculated Matlocks YAC as ZERO during preaseon
We have YAC.
And heeee's baaaack.

I get the disagreement about Matlock, I’ll overlook coach on that one and remain in love even if he wants to waste one of the 53 - he can win a Lombardi with 52
. My view remains he can’t play FB or DL at NFL levels and he sure as heck can’t play TE, he’d be nothing more than the worst OL6 in the league - that is just silly imo. Throw the ball to Burke or Penning 3 yards downfield if you want your OL6 on the field.d. I am guessing, but don’t know, they can’t just cut him if he’s football injured without a settlement? Any experts?
Couldn’t they just put Perryman on IR during the 53 cuts and not cut Scott at all, instead of doing it the next day - was my question. Teams can’t claim a player on IR. Or is there a magic count of IR-designated returns before the 53 cut vs after the 53? I don’t know the rule.
oh - also - Denzel is a vested vet, he wouldn’t go on waivers, he’d be outright released
I appreciate your help and apologize I remain befuddled on the Machiavellian maneuver strategy which I assume is in there and I just don’t get.
Whats this move stuff? I hadn’t heard …
