We have numerous players in our WR room, all of who could step up in '25 in as likely a manner as QJ.

What should register is that we drafted KLS and traded up for Gadsden over Miles Frazier.

No one can convince me that KLS or DD are incapable of running horizontal crossers.

Yes to all that but one or more starting WR’s is bound to be sidelined with injury and as it currently stands, QJ is needed for depth.

I am not so sure that Keenan would not sign for vet minimum late.

Getting his #13 back is not a problem, although many here think it is.

The Cowboys would be paying a modest price for QJ's upside, which is greater than Jalen Tolbert 's.

The Chargers would move on, with ample weapons, in spite of the exaggerated guesses of many TPB posters.

I will mention again the matrix of routes that our array of weapons are proficient at, and there is now redundancy with QJ, someone that Hortiz did not draft.

Furthermore what must be considered is the roster building strategy of Joe Hortiz.

It remains a fact that we drafted 4 new compelling weapons.

So which month you betting on. August or October ?

Why wouldn’t they just ask for Reagor or Rice? TPB knows both of them are better, why won’t the cowboys? Rice has HOF potential

We do have a roster building strategy, it includes retaining roster depth and allowing time to actually see rookies play. Joe knows that your projected array of proficient routes includes a lot of routes by players that have never stepped on an NFL field. He also knows 2 receivers running your array of routes are above average injury risk

if you offer me a starting OG or OC, I have a different answer. But today for a 2026 Rd5 or Rd6 pick? Nope. I can trade him next February for that.

If he stinks this year you probably can't. But who cares? A 5th or 6th really isn't worth much. Very few of them become solid starters. I think the chances of him improving to be an above average #3 WR are much higher than him falling off to not being worth a 5th or 6th rounder.

I think there's a solid chance 25-33% chance he actually turns into a weapon this year. He's not going to be a reliable number one ever. He's too boom or bust for that. But if you just give him the routes he does best 85% of the time, he could hit 900 yards and take over 1-2 games a year.

I would say it’s more a perky B cup at this point.

We have two promising but unproven rookies behind Ladd and an unknown what’s left in the tank veteran.

I’m excited about the potential as much as any fan but the uncertainty is real.

As much as I distrust QJ’s capabilities, unless we add another proven vet to the WR room, I don’t think he is expendable right now.

I like the Harris and KLS picks but as you note, unproven. Mike Williams cannot be counted on to play the full season though the signing made sense for 3m.

QJ cannot be traded unless they have a back up plan to replace him. And thats probably Keenan Allen

My guess, the Cowboys bring back Amari Cooper over trading for QJ. Hell, Jerrah might just sign Slayer

Hollywood Brown is a different type of receiver than QJ, and the Ravens simply kept drafting weapons after trading him.

Gadsden catches everything and he's a big slot.

The issue as far as I am concerned is not fit or talent or compensation level so much as clutch drops.

A fresh start in TCU country would do QJ good plus interest Jerry.

Of course Hortiz would like an additional midrounder next year.

This board is trying so hard to justify being nice to QJ when this is a football decision.

Trey and KLS are welcome to win WR1/2 and WR3 starting spots and Herbie's confidence in camp. I am fine if they beat out Q (and Dub?) on Day1, nobody is ever injured, and Q sees little or no play time. If all pan out as deliciously as you project, and I hope they do, then we enjoy the luxury of a slightly over-priced Q insurance policy on the bench. Q fits in the roster, he fits the cap, and he can play in 2025 if an emergency arises. a future R5 or R6 player may never even make a roster and obviously cannot insure anything in 2025.

truth is, we should have been on a diligent search for weapons and OL the moment we realized we had a true franchise QB.
OL we addressed immediately (if you remember that horrid 2020 OL) but weapons were ignored. We relied on aging vets (ekeler, williams, allen) and then our one shot at a first round wr, we blew with "a developing" wr.
