TE's not getting open, the reason they aren't getting open is because most of the time they are on the line pass blocking. Both RB's and TE's aren't chipping their blocking assignment and getting out on their routs because they are getting caught in the washing machine of blocking mayhem. If you look at the video's Warner went over there is no receiver underneath. That's because they are tied up blocking because someone missed their blocking assignment. It's freaken maddening how bad the IOL is blocking right now. Seriously, 3 IOLmen on one dude while the RB is getting blown up by 2 dudes. There is something fundamentally wrong with them.

A few days ago the Chargers opened the 21-day window for Hurst to be activated from IR. Since he practiced full on Tuesday and today, I would think there's a chance that he's activated tomorrow. I think teams can do that on game day. The roster has been at 52 since Reagor was put on IR on Saturday, so there's an open spot for him.

I like the Chargers in this game. Both teams have played a lot of bad teams and lousy QBs. Bo Nix is a Brock Purdy clone. Put up some stats but not a clutch guy. Herbert is an elite QB. Ill take elite over average every day. Go Chargers. 24-14

Molden has been such a playmaker, who replaces him, Jefferson?

I guess Ja'Sir Taylor gets Hart's snaps? That's a bit scary.

It will probably be Maye and Jefferson at safety and Derwin at nickle. He has been playing pretty consistently at "big nickle" recently.

Did the Chargers not elevate anyone from the practice squad for this game? Why not? With Molden doubtful and Gilman on IR, they will only have three safeties available for the game.

Edit: It looks like players can be elevated from the practice squad on game day up until the inactives are announced (90 minutes before game time), so maybe the Chargers were waiting on Molden's condition before deciding whether to elevate a safety (or other players) for tomorrow's game.

Nothing wrong with picking the Chargers. But saying we're going to win because Herbert is better than Richardson is really a very bad analogy.
Hurst is coming off of IR. He may get some snaps but I think Smartt is going to be the receiving TE target.

The Donks running game is as bad as ours, maybe worse. So they'll likely have to beat us through the air. Their receivers are not that great
either. They drop as many balls as we do. Nonetheless Nix can be a problem. Get in his face and we shut them down.

I think some of the slot CB's get cross trained at Safety. If that's the case they should give some safety snaps to Taylor and go with Fulton/Still/Leonard at CB with Derwin taking some snaps as the big slot at times.

That would minimize Taylor's snaps at CB and hopefully he looks better at safety.

I agree and have said many times that Herbert has to play elite for the team to have a chance to win (though the D did step up a few times this year). He has so little margin for error that it is just sad at times.

Having said that, one thing to note from that video is Warner found 6 plays out of 33 pass attempts that he is questioning and even said that wasn't as many as he originally thought. One of the plays is one he doesn't like that a lot of teams run. He also said he can't tell exactly what is supposed to be going on and some of it could be on the WRs. Clearly whatever the reason we are struggling. I suspect there is blame to go all around. Herbert is getting hammered, we can't run, the WR show little separation and some pass concepts are being questioned. A mess all around.

True, but in those 6 plays, they are drive killers because Herbert can't run. They will see on that tape he can't run.

I'm just saying, keep our options open if the offense is not doing well. We didn't score in the 2nd half.
