I just want to see a commitment to protecting Herbert. And that involves two things
1) more protection. Dissly is the best combo TE on the roster, meaning blocking and receiving. Why is he inactive?

2) quicker passes, screens, use QJ and Harris for their yard after catch ability

The goal should be to cut down the hits per game on Herbert by 50% on average. I realize Herbert might also be willing to move out of the pocket and dump the ball. So be it

Looks like this could be a bit depressing even from a scoreboard watching point of view hoping those we are fighting with for a playoff spot will falter. Ravens get the Jets, Jags take on the dreadful Cardinals, and Bills-Texans. I sense we will need help but doesn't look like it will come this weekend.

Ravens play the Jets - so they probably get to 6-5
Steelers play the Bears - at the Bears -- Bears winning would not be a shocker so Steelers might drop to 6-5 - -Chargers own the tiebreaker . Another team with 5 losses is a good thing and they play Ravens twice
Bills v Texans - I think it helps the Chargers if the Bills win to give a team below them, another L . But whatever
Colts v Chiefs - easy, root for the Colts
Jags v Cardinals - maybe the reverse travel from E to W will affect the Jags, the Cardinals might pull a rabbit, I doubt it - Jags should win but who knows.

The Chiefs play two games before the Chargers play their next one. If they go 1-1, Colts or Cowboys on Turkey Day - Chargers beat the Raiders, two game lead and own the tiebreaker. And they would still own the tiebreaker even if the Chiefs beat the Texans and Chargers combined with the Chargers losing to Philly and KC. Both teams would be 8-6 but the Chargers would have a better AFC record

So of all the games above
Rooting for Colts first, Bears second, Cardinals would be nice

I think this team has bigger issues than Justin Herbert's girlfriend.

Besides, Herberts deserves a little happiness and TLC for all the abuse he takes for this franchise, physical and otherwise.
