Novs teams started season slow but were great in NOV and DEC.... and NORV knew how to coach in playoff games....unlike marty who got even more conservative and just prayed opponeiont would make a blunder and give him a win! Marty NEVER believed in QB's or a passing game.....on 3rd and 8 or more he would always call a draw or screen.... he never allowed his OC to open up the offense unless he was behind by 3 scores or more..... Marty is good for elevating a BAD team to the point where it can beat bad teams, but he cannot win playoff games....because of he is too conservative!

omg!.... the opposite is true!.... and all KC fans, cleveland, and redskin fans warned us when we hired him! Marty is a HORRIBLE game manager----especially in playoffs!!! or against good teams that dont make mistakes!Originally posted by DerwinBosa View Post
Yes, I do. Marty went deep into the playoffs when he actually had a quarterback (Bernie Kosar in Cleveland and Joe Montana in Kansas City). Rivers was injured in the 2006 playoffs and the Marlon McCree play was a fluke. I also think Marty would have done much better than 8-8 in 2008. A.J.'s draft picks also became much worse after Marty left.

I said when he had a quarterback he went deep into the playoffs. He went to two AFC Championship Games with Bernie Kosar and one AFC Championship Game with Joe Montana. So how is the opposite true?Originally posted by Charge! View Post

I don't think any Redskins fans said anything negative about Marty. He did an excellent coaching job in 2000 and they fired him for Steve Spurrier, who was a much worse head coach. Sound familiar?

Norv Turner: 114-122-1
Once the core Marty built in San Diego fell apart, under Norv's stewardship, we missed the playoffs in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
There is no reasonable argument to say Norv was better than Marty as a head coach.

Norv isn’t a good HC like Marty is. But for some reason, Marty just couldn’t get it done in the playoffs. It’s not just the 2006 game. The 2004 game with Brees as well where he played too conservative near the end and settled for a FG attempt that was no good. That was on Kaeding obviously. But we should have gotten closer instead running LT three times in a row.Originally posted by DerwinBosa View Post

It would be upsetting if the Raiders got Minter, I thought he was a slam dunk for the Ravens or the Steelers but he's doing second interviews with the Raiders? I don't like that, second interview means they are getting close..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. They are also 2nd interviewing Hafley, Eviro so 1/3 chance.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View PostIt would be upsetting if the Raiders got Minter, I thought he was a slam dunk for the Ravens or the Steelers but he's doing second interviews with the Raiders? If Minter goes, hope we can get McDermot, Raheem Morris, a proven DC too. Terryl Austin is a DC for 9 yrs....or they may elevate Clinksdale who knows Jesse's system. Hopefully, he can add /innovate/ stop a running QB like Minter was unable to do vs the Pats .
Part of the game...A new adventure!
If Clink: 3 yrs experience as a DC in college. 3 yrs experience as a ST coach! (Belichick, John Harbaugh had this background too.) They are detail oriented.
1 yr LB, 24 yrs DBs.
When Bolts play the Raiders, they will know Jesse's system. Jesse won't know their new OCs system.
I'd be more concerned if the bad guys hired Eviro. Great resume.

I also hope that Jesse does not end up in there but the eff'ing Raiders could also be on an Intel gathering mission.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View PostIt would be upsetting if the Raiders got Minter, I thought he was a slam dunk for the Ravens or the Steelers but he's doing second interviews with the Raiders? man that would be upsetting to see Minter accept that job...that seems like a place for HCs go to die. Pete Carroll got axed after a year there! thats a place if you like merry-go-round coaching.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View PostIt would be upsetting if the Raiders got Minter, I thought he was a slam dunk for the Ravens or the Steelers but he's doing second interviews with the Raiders? They’ll elevate Clicksdale. Only exception is if they hired a more green OC like Sheelhasse.Originally posted by jox g View Post
