I am also very eager to find out without any injection of colorful commentary by some (I have seen those already on social media). There are always injury risks involved with these slightly built speedsters who enter the NFL (basic physics) but I would definitely love to see what McD had planned for a player whom he was pounding the table for because it is very highly likely that McD himself is on a one year lease with us, although the fundamentals and the blueprint of his reshaped Chargers O may be left as legacy for the next OC.

At least we didn't take him high in the draft, early 4rth is much better than what the Rams did with Tutu Atwell, who is listed at almost the exact same size as Thompson...Atwell went #57 overall which I thought was a stupid ass reach by the Rams at the time and I was proven correct...Atwell got rag-dolled all the damn time too...I think Thompson is a better route runner and if he uses his quicks to avoid contact as much as possible I think he has a chance to add something important to this offense...

If you watch Thompson in college, you will see that he also blocked and was largely effective at it. Not saying he can do as well in the NFL, but he can run real routes and he is a willing blocker on top of his blazing speed.

* Atwell is even smaller than Thompson: 5'8'' and 3/4rths and 158 pounds. So that is about 6 pounds, and a half a foot in height.

* I read somewhere that Thompson is really strong - impressive in the weight room.

* Thompson has a catch radius, which isn't true for someone like Derrius Davis, or Tutu.

We will see.

I am really excited to see how Thompson pairs with 4.3 KLS how MM is going to cut this offense loose. MM with our RB room and WR room and especially QB.... He has to be just giddy. By far and away the best QB he's ever coached.
