The expectations on draft picks (& rookie free agents) is so high right now, that the typical long learning curve for most young DTs is being tossed aside.
Edwards is in year two. We don't know what is going on in practice ..... maybe Nick Barrett had some health issue before thegame, or his girlfriend just dumped him.

Blame Hortiz and the coaching staff.

After I wrote that post I went back and found a handful of plays he was in and his get off from his stance was no where near as sudden as the other guys he was playing alongside of…some of those guys were undrafted rookie free agents😳
