    WR Discussion

Ok, so if Keenan Allen is playing in the slot who plays #1 and #2 WR Positions? Williams and Benjamin?

    Thoughts?
    Go Rivers!

I would say yes. Reality is Allen is the true. #1 though and will be the early read if Denver keeps the safeties back to contain Williams and Benjamin on the deeper pattern. Allen should see 10 catches IMO the way Rivers likes to het the ball out quick.

i think Denver will try to contain the deep ball against us which plays into Allen, Gates and Henry getting a good amount of work. I see a few plays going deeper but against Denvers pass rush id rather keep Rivers from too much exposure. Take the 5-20 yard plays and eat the clock but go deep to keep them honest.

Denver only has Von Miller. Ray is hurt and Ware retired so Von is their only real pass rush threat. Honestly if we can run on them which, if their run defense isn't better than last season, we should be able to. They were 28th against the rust last year. I didn't see their defense getting better this year.

Plus we have a guy who knows the schemes and blocking McLoser is installing. What's that worth?

So slide protection to Von Millers side to help neutralize him and run right at him. I did forget Ware retired. Ray out and isnt Wolfe out too? Looking at their injury report they seem to have a lot of injuries. Ward out so really their main strength is their CBs now. Sounds like 4-5 starting guys different from their D last year plus a new DC with Wade gone. May not be firing on all cylinders like 2 years ago so we really might give them major headaches if our offense comes out on a mission. Hopefully Whiz follows the 3 seconds and get the ball out rule and go no huddle to keep their D from subbing. Attack them and we can win the battle Imo. Get Gordon mixed in and hit our TEs.

The beauty of the offense (and the silver lining to all the injuries) is that all 3 WR can play all three positions. Williams has been successful in the slot, despite his frame and that it takes him a little longer to get to top speed. Allen has been unstoppable at x-y- and z. Benjamin can play all three. So Whiz can tinker and find mismatches.

I think the Broncos are really going to miss Wade Phillips. Of all the recent stupid moves made by the Broncos, that was the worst. Bronco fans now starting to turn on Elway.

I do think Charger defense will look sub par the first few games. Just be prepared friends. Bradley is very different than Wade/Pagano.

They will get cute and come out throwing to Gordon. Then they will throw to Henry and "fool" Denver defence using WRs as decoys. On 3rd and long they will throw to well covered Gates.

I think first play will be the 5 yard look-in pass to Gates that he catches and sits down immediately after each time. Either that or Gordon up the middle.

I'm going with Keenan over the middle for 15 yards.

I think they will move the WRs around play to play. The better to get away with WRs blocking defenders down the field....
