I've mulled that one over quite a bit. It's obviously between he and Fouts and I tend to agree with you that it is Rivers. I guess the question to ask is if you had to win one game, who would you want at the helm?

Would Fouts have had more success and been more prolific had he played in the same era as Rivers? And would Rivers have had the same success and output in Fouts era?

I suspect Fouts' stats would be boosted and Rivers' stats might have taken a bit of a hit. So they'd probably have similar stats to one another.

I'd take Rivers because he's the guy I've grown up with, but both QBs are similar in that they've done a lot of good but never got over the line to make the big game.

Both QB's got the team to the AFC championship game both came up short. But imo if you give Fouts just LT there is no doubt in my mind they would have gone to the superbowl.
