    Welcome Uchenna Nwosu, OLB USC



    CAREER:
    He has 93 tackles (9 for a loss, with 3 sacks), 6 deflections and a forced fumble in his career. He has 14 career starts.

    2017: The steady and effective Nwosu returns as a starting outside linebacker as a senior in 2017.

    2016: Nwosu started all season at outside linebacker as a junior in 2016. Overall in 2016 while starting all 13 games, he had 53 tackles, including 7.5 for losses of 39 yards (with 3 sacks for minus 18 yards), plus 5 deflections and a forced fumble. He won (underclassman with the most competitive spirit).

    He had a tackle against Alabama, 4 tackles and 2 deflections versus Utah State, 4 tackles at Stanford and 5 tackles (including 1.5 for losses) at Utah. He had 3 tackles (with a sack) against Arizona State, then a game-high and career-best 10 tackles (with a sack), plus 2 deflections, against Colorado. He had 7 tackles and forced a fumble against Califorina, 5 tackles (2.5 for losses, with 0.5 sack) against Oregon, 3 tackles (1 for a loss) versus Washington, 1 tackle at UCLA, 7 tackles (0.5 sack) versus Notre Dame and 3 tackles versus Penn State.

    2015: Nwosu was a backup outside linebacker and played on special teams as a sophomore in 2015. Overall in 2015 while appearing in all 13 games (he started versus Arizona), he had 31 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss of 2 yards, and a deflection. He had 4 tackles and a deflection against Arkansas State, 1 each versus Stanford and Arizona State, 2 agianst Washington, 3 at California, 1 against Arizona, 3 at Oregon, a team-best 6 versus UCLA, 8 (1 for a loss) against Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship Game and 2 (0.5 for loss) versus Wisconsin.

    2014: Nwosu served as a backup outside linebacker and played on special teams as a first-year freshman in 2014. Overall in 2014 while appearing in 12 games (all but Nebraska), he had 9 tackles. He had 2 tackles against Fresno State, then 1 each against Stanford, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah, Washington State, California and UCLA. He was not enrolled at USC for the 2015 spring semester.

    HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2013 Prep Star All-West, All-L.A. City Division I first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Marine League first team as a senior linebacker at Narbonne High in Harbor City (Calif.). He had 121 tackles, 3 interceptions, 9 deflections, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in 2013. Narbonne played in 2013 L.A. City Division I final.

    He had 15 tackles as a 2012 junior.

    He also played basketball at Narbonne.

    PERSONAL: He is a political science major at USC.

          Plays the perimeter on run downs kick Bosa inside on pass downs and rushes the passer. I dont know man. I think he could be a 700 snap LB for us. SAM was a need.

            I actually think Steve will like this pick. He was pretty vocal about needing pass rushers in order to use Bosa inside.

          McCain and Attaochu departures pointed to an OLB/Edge as a need. Still have a need for the middle of the 7.
