Chargers.com already have Kyzir White listed at LB. Competition in the defensive backfield should be good, maybe Verrett will get traded sometime during the season. This how they have thier positions listed on Chargers.com I just ranked them to what I think

1. C. Hayward
2. J Verrett
3. T. Williams
4. D. King -possible safety
5. Jaylen Watkins -possible safety

Safety
1.D. James
2. J. Addae
3. Adrian Philips
4. R. Jenkins

I say safety position is set with the versatility of King and Watkins. The question will they carry a 6th corner. if so does that open the door for UDFA Tony Brown or do they keep Micheal Davis who also has speed 4.35 but also has height. I am not sure why the Chargers like Adrian Phillips so much but I think he is replaceable with King or Watkins any way looking forward to the competition and how it shakes out. I know there others on the roster at this point but these are the guys I see in the running in the defensive backfield

Jatavis Scott? lol Still a good breakdown. And we are now hearing that Telesco coveted LB Rashaan Evans and DT Taven Bryan. That info leaked somewhere. Evans would have been a nice piece as well. The plan changed when James was still on the board. Something he admitted completely changed his game plan. "It wasnt supposed to happen like this"

2. Korey Toomer slow re-action
3. Tre Boston did nothing to slow Patterson down and got spun around.

On another note
Addae came up too fast and out of control, on that play Addae has improved but he has reached his ceiling. I hope Desmond King can supplant him at safety giving us James and King as starting safeties

Yeah i think that one play is very telling. It literally exposed every player on that side of the ball that needed to be upgraded. I think long term is Perryman is brought back that he may be viewed as the MLB with White at WLB and Nwosu at SAM. I knew we would upgrade SAM in the draft with a high pick...and am very pleased that we double dipped with such a great open field tackler in White.

Still not sold on Addae. Still think Desmond would thrive at FS in an Earl Thomas role. If Verrett stays on the field I could see King get more reps at safety. Chargers could cut Addae next year without much of a hit.
