Will SAM TEVI be the starting RT?
WIll he become the Jerome Clary of the O-line? Start year after year. But every year viewed as the weak link?

Will LAMP be the starting RG or LG?
Will Lamp go the way of Watt/Tuerk with injuries and eventually cut and then retires?
Who has it better than us?

As far as not being able to get active on game days, that happens to a lot of solid prospects. If you are a backup and don't play ST, you don't suit up. There is no room on a 53 man roster for players who don't play ST, unless they start. Malcolm Floyd was exactly the same way. Could never seem to get a break and get the kind of game reps he needed to develop, even though he kept flashing great ability when he did get to play.

Lamp has yet to be on the field when the team installs the offense. He missed the 1st year with a knee injury, and he was still learning how to play at the NFL level. 2nd year, he missed the install again, with the follow-up procedure, and wasn't ready until after the OL was set and had been working together for months. He wasn't able to train last year until TC was just about over.
      Agreed. Steve.
In watching game tape as the 2018 season progressed.
, you could see what was happening at IOL.

      It was a dance.
      Intricate timing was everything.
At first it did not work
      Then it clicked.
      Then the unit was spent.
      Then we had @ BAL.,
      followed by @ NE..
      What's needed is more consistency
      and cohesion.

It is no surprise that Lamp did not get in,
for reasons independent of draft status
      and bust factor.

      This year, if Lamp dresses
and is a backup at several positions,
does that make him a bust ?

More significantly, does it make it reasonable
      to declare him a bust
beginning half way through the 2018 season ?

C'mon, don't poison the well water
with this overly repetitive cheap talk.
      Discern between Lamp and Tuerk/Watt.
      Be patient.

Lamp im expecting to start at one of the OG spots. He is more talented than either Schofield or Feeney. He just don't have the reps

Doesn't sound like you paid attention to the news. Lamp wasnt ready at the start the season so those aren't facts.
        Ummm...

        News...
Chargers OG Forrest Lamp is a healthy scratch for Week 1 against the Chiefs.

The No. 38 overall pick of the 2017 draft is behind after returning midway through August. Lamp could eventually become a factor at right guard.

Notice the "HEALTHY SCRATCH FOR WEEK 1" part...

EDIT:... I noticed you changed the word "healthy" for "ready" just in time for me to catch it in my post. Nicely done.

Meaning he isn't hurt but not ready. It even says he is behind in your post.
I'm not worried about him. He will be a factor this year.
Ready is the word Lynn used when talking about him

think we're going to have a new starting RT this next season, and.... not named Tevi or Lamp.

don't think Forrest beats out the either of Feeney or Schofield, albeit that he does claim a roster spot on the 53.

Quessenberry and Toner need to be replaced.... draft pick and Forrest is my suspicion.
RT Taliese Fuaga, DT Jer'Zhan Newton, NT T'Vondre Sweat, LB Cedric Gray, TE Ben Sinnott, RB Daijun Edwards, FS Cole Bishop, QB Joe Milton

If you are going to have an OL who takes over as a starter and get some playing time before that, it pretty much has to be able to play several positions. Otherwise they will never be active.

Only 2 kinds of players are backups who are active. Guys who add a lot of depth and backups who play ST.

Lynn said he didn't want to affect continuity on the line as the reason Lamp never suited up on gamedays, yet he cycled our RT's between Tevi and Barksdale mid games for the first 11 weeks.

Can't have it both ways. Lamp was healthy last year, yet wasn't one of the top 7-8 guys on the line for gamedays. Those are just facts.
Yeah....that's because Barksdale was always injured and has mental issues as well. Not sure if the latter played a role in him being released, but it seemed Lynn was well aware of his problems when he started the cycling.

He wasn't ready to play until the middle of the season due to missing so much of the offseason workout. It can set a player behind. Look at what happened to Mike Williams in 2017. And it's harder due to the nature of the oline.
Lamp, a 2017 second-round pick, sat out his rookie season with an injury and was essentially redshirted in 2018, but doctors have cleared him.

"Obviously, I wanted to play," Lamp said. "I really wasn't ready until Week 7 or Week 8, right after that bye week. And by then it's just too late -- that's what Coach Lynn told me. You have an O-line that's been playing together since April 16, when OTAs started, and they've been together for three or four months, so you're not going to break that up."
