Lamp looking good - comment from Eric Williams after the joint Ram-Charger practice:
On third-year offensive lineman Forrest Lamp:
EW: "He looks like the guy that they drafted in the second round and a lot of people thought was perhaps the best offensive lineman in the [2017] draft. ... So, you're starting to see the play strength. I mean, he's a strong dude. We've seen him in run-game periods just pancake dudes and you're just like, 'Oh, OK.' You better get low if you're gonna go against Forrest because you're just gonna get shucked to the ground."

So yeah good to see the middle get a boost but for every step forward we take two backward it seems.

Los Angeles Chargers add two new offensive linemen
by Travis Wakeman1 hour ago Follow @traviswakeman1 Many fans have been waiting to see if the Los Angeles Chargers would take a look at new options along the offensive line. The team answered that with a yes, adding two new offensive linemen on Friday.
The recent word is that Russell Okung could miss multiple games and that should put the Chargers and the team's fanbase into full mode. It's one thing to have to rely on Sam Tevi at right tackle again, but finding a left tackle to replace Okung will be no easy feat. The Dallas Cowboys released Larry Allen Jr. on Thursday, son of one of the best overall offensive linemen that ever played in the NFL. The Chargers chose to swoop in and claim him off waivers on Friday.TOP ARTICLES3/5READ MOREVIKINGS TRAINING CAMP 2019: TOP 4 TAKEAWAYS FROM DAY 7 Allen Jr. is never going to be as good as his father (who is) but if any of the Hall of Famer's talent rubs off on him, the Chargers will take it. That said, if he can't make it with the Cowboys, the team his dad starred for, can he make it anywhere?
The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder played his college ball at Harvard and joined the Cowboys this offseason as an undrafted free agent. He was twice selected to the All-Ivy League team in college. The other signing was Jamar McGloster, a player with some familiarity with the team.
Undrafted out of Syracuse last season, McGloster has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders but also spent time on the Chargers' practice squad last season. Both of these players will face long odds to make the team this year, but the Chargers clearly want some new options in camp.
To make room on the 90-man roster, the team parted ways with offensive lineman Cole Toner and linebacker Tre'Von Johnson. Toner has been part of the team since being signed in November 2017. Johnson has bounced around the league since going undrafted out of Nevada in 2017.
In other news, Daniel Helm, who the Chargers released on Thursday, was claimed by the 49ers. The team must see something in Helm as it released veteran Niles Paul in a corresponding move.
Also on Friday, former Chargers linebacker Hayes Pullard was signed by the Arizona Cardinals.
We'll wait to see what Allen Jr. and McGloster bring to the table but it is starting to seem clear that the Chargers could have some issues along the offensive line, again. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.

Something to consider might be making an offer to the Eagles to trade for one of their OT.
They just drafted Andre Dillard in the 1st round this season to eventually replace Jason Peters, who still played pretty well last year. He has missed time with injuries in 2017 and 2012 when he missed time to an achilles tear and a knee injury. However, he is pretty cheap (very cheap) for a starting LT, especially if the Eagles eat the bonus money. And getting rid of him would free up the cap space they would need to go after Clowney, to fill out their DE rotation.
Other potential candidates are Jordan Mailata, the huge rugby player who moved to OT last year. He would be more of a long-range type move, but still a guy who might be able to fill out the OL.
The last guy is Halapoulivaati Vaitai, who was the guy who filled in for Peters during the Eagles SB run. He is not a great player, but he is still on his rookie deal, and there is no chance he is going to stay in Philly to ride the bench behind Lane Johnson and Dillard. If they trade him now, there is a chance they get something for him now, instead of with the 1-year lag that comes with comp picks in FA.
