In the end, the lack of a home field advantage is always going to be a problem and it will get worse in the new stadium. It could be considered an advantage of sorts... the whole "us against the world" mentality. But is has to wear on the players.
Everyone seems to be making a big deal about the playoff loss to the Patriots... but I totally expected it. Maybe not such a slaughter... but we had lost almost our entire LB corp, traveled a ton of miles, played a tough game the week earlier against the birds... while the best coach in the world got an extra week to prepare and some of the best players in the league got an extra week of rest and prep. We win that tie-breaker, get the bye and host the Patriots w/o them ever seeing that dime D... we would have had a great chance to advance. Just look at the numbers.... the VAST majority of the teams in the Championship Games over the last decade had 1st round byes. It is too big of an advantage IMO... but since it is there... I think you have to shoot for it for a legit shot at a ring.
