I don't think Colin Kaepernic is a great qb, but I do support his getting a job in the NFL again. I do think he is one of the top 64 qbs in football. And better than any of our backup qbs.

From all that I read before, he wanted to have starter money at least and most didn't feel he was a starting quality QB. That supposedly lead to the "Collusion Claim" since no General Manager or Owner wanted to pay him as such.

I do think he can be a good backup thouigh.

I'll only be happy if he has to move to Venezuela as part of the deal.

And who the hell is Reid? Never heard of him.

Love to know what the settlement is in terms of $. Is it $1 as a face saving settlement for Kap and reid or several million $$?

Reid claimed to have been drug tested excessively this season.

I read somewhere the settlement was for millions, but not specifically for just Reid and Kaepernick.

Since Kaepernick can't hit water if he fell out of a boat, if I could get a settlement from the league, I know a lot of people want to paint the collusion story, but it goes a whole lot deeper than just that. Kaepernick has the arm of an NFL backup. He can't throw accurately downfield. He wants the chance to compete for a starters job and starters money, but he doesn't have the skills. A no team wants a backup who gets that much attention. IN that sense, he is right, although I don't think there was an agreement between NFL teams to formally say no team would sign him. Teams aren't that stupid to start with, plus they always hope their division opponents will do something stupid, like sign a backup who would become a distraction.

If I was Kaepernick I would take a deal no matter what. When you view his final season in SF in light of the fact most of his completions are short dump offs to RB, then his 60% completion percentage looks pretty shitty. There is something wrong when a 2-14 team has a QB who only attempts 27 passes per game. Kaepernick was very efficient at dinking and dunking the ball down the field and running the clock out on his own team.

Reid signing a long term deal with Carolina makes it very difficult to prove collusion. He was a decent S, but he is at his best in the box, playing like an extra LB. Those guys are a dime a dozen. I don't think many teams want to pay premiere money to a guy who does his best in the box unless that player is like Derwin James. James can play man, zone, a matchup against anyone. Reid is a short flat defender who is good, but you cannot put him out man to man, and he doesn't play that well in the deep middle (single high) or 2 deep secondary.

The league will lose in some people's eyes because they gave Kap a moral win. However, there was nothing to be gained by going into court and letting everyone know that Kaepernick has no value. That just makes the NFL look more guilty, or at least mean spirited. And since the agreement is sealed, both can claim a moral victory.

Of course it was his reasoning. He wanted starter money and knew he would never get it by playing football. So this is what we got instead.

Congratulations to him, he pulled it off. Now he can fade into irrelevance with his money. Until he goes broke, and inevitably runs back to the media to dig him up all over again.
