Emanuel played 209 D snaps out of a possible 981 total D snaps for the team. How many of those were because he was the best option we had to play contain? Or even second best option? Guessing about 200 of those snaps were due to guys playing ahead of him being injured, the rest just garbage time resting the starters. Also guessing based on his performance filling in for injured starters, the coaches have seen enough and are moving on. Maybe they sign him back, if they do I sure hope nobody ahead of him gets injured.

Emanuel played because he made less mistakes than Nwoso. That should change this year.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Emmanuel was starting ahead if Nwosu early on. Either way I think he is gone.

Nwosu had never practiced at that position, he got thrown in there as injuries piled up. That he supplanted Emanuel in a handful of games is good, and well not that surprising.

Personnel is a huge factor in how they can and will play.
That is where Nwosu could be so useful if he develops well. He has the traits to do everything. And stay on the field.
I do not see another SAM LB on the roster that has the potential to be a 3 down player.
Cover the TE man to man well. Play the run well and even handle the RB out of backfield.
            And rush the passer.
Nwosu can move to DE while Bosa moves inside to DT. And a base DT comes off the field.

Big fan of moving Bosa inside, or at least trying it.

I'm not sure that is true. He was used at OTTO in preseason, so I would think given the overlap between beig an OTTO and LEO, that he was probably practicing at both spots.

I remember an interview with Lynn responding to the question, why wasn't he being used like that, Lynn said straight up he had never practiced for it so they weren't just throwing him out there. A week or two later there he was. I trust Lynn.
