    Eric Berry?

Is he the type of high risk high reward guy we go for? He can't be asking for anything but a prove it contract. If he's at a palatable cost what do you all think? I'm on the fence.

I've of course thought about it but his health and current physical skillset are basically unknown. If he checks out medically/physically and is on the discount possibly.

Apparently he has a bone problem on his other achilles that may need surgery, but that he is avoiding doing so. So essentially, we may be getting a guy who has to play sporadically due to pain management.

If this is true, I would have to say "not Berry interesting".

The last I heard on NFLN is that his condition doesn't require surgery but will present pain, thus is manageable with a mix of rest, treatment and toughness.
if that's the case, I'd love to throw a reasonable offer.
signing of Davis and an expensive backup qb are win-now moves, and so would signing Berry

would be very similar to the Bob Sanders signing of a few years ago. Didn't end well.

Tre Boston is more appealing than Berry if you want a dependable addition to the defense to replace Addae.

Bob Sanders was a small hard hitting safety that gave/took one too many shots: just another AJ Smith reach.

I don't think Berry is in the same category.

I guess I'm in the minority. I'd like to see the Chargers bring him in and see how healthy he is.

I listed him as my sleeper pick for a FA Safety signing. Might be a last minute thing with him like last year though.
