Let's put it this way--at least I wasn't dumb enough to pull a gun on anyone...and I never went to a Mexican jail...but...I know some people who had some, er, interesting experiences south of the border...one of my favorite Mexican cop stories was told to me by a guy I met: Dude is driving down the street, Mexican cop pulls him over. Dude: "Officer, what did I do wrong?" Cop: "You failed to stop at that stop back there." Dude looks back, sees no stop sign. Dude: "I don't see any stop sign!" Cop: "You don't see that stop sign back there? The one that's fallen over???" Dude: "Now, how am I going to see it if it's fallen over?" Cop notices the muffler on Dude's car is rattling. Cop: "Aw forget about the stop sign. I'm giving you a ticket for that unsecured muffler!" Ah, good old life in Mexico...
