I wont champion for tevi. He does a good job but isnt great. I dont see how thisbpick helps us against the cheifs this upcoming season. Thats my point, if we picked him cuz of the cheifs draft. Its a head scratcher. Especially if we coulda had him tomorrow.

I get the pick as a development pick. You cant teach size and athleticism. I question whether 3rd was the right round for that type of pick. That seems like a 3rd day.. 5th round or later pick.

Adderley is nice, but should've moved up in the 2nd and reached for a RT. Standing pat in the 3rd is too late, but we'll see.

The first NFL Combine invite from Sioux Falls, Pipkins dominated the competition that he went up against in his phenomenal career, only giving up 2 sacks. Possessing elite length, and overall frame, Pipkins is the ideal physical specimen to play tackle at the next level. He showed out well in the East West Shrine game, taking a huge step with his draft process. Will be a popular sleeper pick in the draft process.

                  Trey Pipkins, OT, Sioux Falls
                  Height: 6-7. Weight: 307.
                  Projected 40 Time: 5.19.
                  Projected Round (2019): 2-3.

2/9/19: Pipkins was in the running with Syracuse defensive tackle Chris Slayton as the best player at this year's East-West Shrine. The 6-foot-7, 307-pound Pipkins has good length and a nice build to him. He showed nice feet in the position drills, and also used his size, length, and strength to tie up edge rushers in the pass-rushing one-on-ones. Pipkins faces a big jump in competition, but after some developmental time as a backup, he could be a starter. After his strong week in St. Petersburg, team sources said they thought that Pipkins would be a second- or third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Pipkins is someone definitely on the Day 3 radar after his outstanding performance at the combine last week. At over 6-6 and 309 pounds with 33 7/8-inch arms, the Sioux Falls star didn't have a drill below the 77th percentile at the tackle position. That's including the 40, vertical, broad, or three-cone drill.
He needs to get stronger in the pros, and the speed in his kick slide will be significantly tested at the next level, but Pipkins proved to be an above-average athlete for the tackle position and could start his career as a swing tackle.

I live an hour from SF. I never saw him play as USF is D2 and don't play SD State.

I know he was invited to the combine and did his pro day at SDSU with the Jackrabbits.

Looks like a project, for sure. But he's got ideal size and good athleticism.

The level of competition at D2 is waaay down from even the FCS. So I'm hoping that he is someone that can learn quickly and adjust to the level of play.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

Probably because it's a player that the head office love and believe he has massiveupside, and weren't confident that he would still be around in the late fifth. TT has been correct more often that not, so I am willing to back this.
