Here is an excerpt from another article about the Browns in my local paper. For those of you who have attended training camps, any insights? Is McCoy that much crisper than Norv? Is the Clev Plain Dealer reporter delusional? Or was Shurmur comatose when he ran camp last year?
Not a second wasted in uptempo camp
The Browns weren't able to woo Chip Kelly to Cleveland, but it appears the coaching staff they hired plans to employ fast paced principles similar to the ones Kelly made trendy in Oregon.
Those attending the opening day of training camp saw an offense moving at a much higher tempo than in recent seasons. Coach Rod Chudzinski and offensive coordinator Norv Turner are emphasizing pace and efficiency. There's no standing around. Little wasted motion.
Now we are reading in the UT about Norv's pace being a lot less efficient than McCoy's. And his offense was never fast paced in SD. So what gives?
