I was around 10 years old; living in Kentucky-but the '61 Chargers were my first exposure to professional football.
The game; probably pre-season, was in Balboa-vs-The Dallas Texans on ABC's "Wide World of Sports".
The cool thing was they'd mic'd up QB's Cotton Davidson (Dallas) and Jack Kemp and you could hear them call
the plays live. Sounds like a Roone Arledge move.
The Chargers were great that year; 12-2, but lost to George Blanda's Houston Oilers in SD; my first "Game from Hell".
My first game in SD was a pre-season-v-The Rams in '84. My first regular season was September 9, '01-v-Washington;
both with son KY Bolts Fan on hand...
