If any deal is to get done I would think they would half to meet halfway Freeman avearge about 8 mill a year and Johnson average 13 mill, somewhere 10.5-11 mill a year should be a deal.

It is hard to justify getting 13 mill a year based on the current history Gurley future is clouded, and Freeman played 2 games last season and Johnson have missed the whole season. Gordon who has been injury prone if he is not happy with 10.5-11 mill a year there is no deal to be had. I doubt if the Cowboys give Elliot 13 mill because of his off-field behavior. A offer of 10.5-11 mill will put Gordon in top 5 of running backs behine Bell, Gurley, Johnson that would actually make Gordon number 4 highest paid.

      And that's too much.

The Chargers offering a couple mil more this season in an extension sounds reasonable, Gordon (and his agents) expecting a mega deal does not. Just not the market for it, the team doesn't have the cap for it, and frankly Gordon, as good as he is, has not proven to be worth all that. He may get slightly more from another, loser team next year after he holds out (and if he doesn't re-injure himself in his limited snaps), but is that worth it? I guess we will see.

Those are positions that are a little easier to justify a max contract. IMO. And like i said Phil would say its one time. And he only has a few more years left.

2 - 3 million apart? Is that close for contract negotiations? Sounds like the chances of Flash getting a new deal are high. As long as they can afford to pay Filthy and the Pit Boss. It might cost 25 mil a year to keep Bosa. And Henry needs to be resigned. Lots of juggling gonna take place over the next two years. 2021 some big contracts expire, which could free up cap space. OL and CB ought to be drafted in the first 2 rounds next year, as the Bolts may part ways with the likes of Okung, Hayward and Pouncey.

Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt praised RB Justin Jackson's work ethic, vision and performance last year when Melvin Gordon was injured. "His work in the offseason has shown he's a legitimate guy," Whisenhunt said.

Of course they see value. Just not what Gordon thinks his value is. Kinda like everyone here.

Didn't see him offering the team any money back in his first 3 seasons when he was hurt and averaged under 4 yards a carry. As others have pointed out, the guy is coming off a season where he missed a quarter of the regular season and was a complete non-factor in the playoffs. Somehow, he feels it entitles him to elite RB money. IMO, he hasn't earned it.
