One of the best country songs of all time. Rolling Stone ranks it #4.

4 George Jones, ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today’ (1980)

"Nobody will buy that morbid son of a bitch," George Jones told producer Billy Sherrill as he left the studio. Instead, "He Stopped Loving Her Today" was his first Number One in six years. If there's a bottom under the bottom, where humor mixes openly with despair, Jones knows it. By 1980 he was so lost he'd started speaking in split personalities, one of them Jones, another called the Old Man and a third called Dee-Doodle the Duck. It took him 18 months to finish "He Stopped Loving Her Today" on account of his speech being so slurred. The song's protagonist swore he'd love her 'til the day he died, Jones tells us, with Sherrill's string section rising behind him like some horror-movie hand shooting out of its grave. Then one day, he dies. Jones hated the song – he thought it was miserable and overly dramatic. It was. But country music often depends on the kind of hyperbole that real life can't bear. Unfortunately, it looks like all the good music has already been written.

I remember back in the day going to the lazarium to see Dark Side of the Moon. That was awesome, truly the greatest album of all time.

Went to a laser show way back featuring same and other artists, done really well. Not sure if laseraium shows are happening these days.

"Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues," Danny O'keefe. Rediscovering that genre. Loggins & Messina, "Danny's Song." Dave Loggins, "Please Come to Boston."

I genuinely feel sorry for my 17 year old daughter and friends.
they try so hard to look for the next great thing.
I used to drive them to these lame ass shows and buy them "records" (because CDs are too easy apparently)
And there is just no passion with them.
I don't blame them, the music just sucks.
Thats why she still falls back to Nirvana or the Beatles

Today decided needed to go back to my old metal head days of HS late 80's. Came out in 1984, a absolute classic Metallica song with an absolute crazy story told.
