Is It Time To Bring Back Gates?

Wow, our TE corps is hurting. First HH injured. Then Green. Now Culkin. Don't know how serious it is, but the only healthy TE left is Kendricks, and he barely joined the team. Time to bring back Antonio Gates? At least for a few games?

It's been time to bring him back. Gates may be old, but he knows exactly where to be to catch passes from Rivers in critical situations.

I can't see another viable option. Any other TE from Indy that was OK in PS wouldn't hurt either.

EDIT: Dwayne Allen is a FA. Adds little as a receiver, but can still block.

I'd love to see Gates again.

If not, then move Ekeler to slot and motion him, having Gordon + Watt in backfield and let PR tear em apart.

Gates is one of my all time favorites and while he clearly was a shell of himself the past few years, at least he is a body that knows the offense and Rivers trusts to be in the right spot and make a catch. I guess it will depend on how bad Green's injury is and when they expect Henry back.

No Gates. I think Kendricks is going to be a good addition. I don't know how he rates as a blocker, but as a receiver he is far superior to Green or Culkin. I assume he will remain on the roster in place of Culkin. I don't know if that hurts the run game, but it will help the passing game. When Henry returns, we actually have two TE's who are receiving threats. Been awhile since this team has had that.

I say as long as he is good knowing he is expendable once we start getting players back and healthy, then OK. Need to have at least some production from the tight end spot.

                        I think Gates is done.
If Kendricks isn't going to cut it alone on the receiving end, trading for a rental, somebody like T.Eifert before might help, or V.Davis from WAS.
Both are on go-nowhere teams and will be UFAs. Offer a conditional late round pick.

But now we also need to account for Culkin.
