Had a few positive observations in here:
-- Bosa - this was the first time I've gone to a game & seen him play. This guy is an absolute beast. He really tore it up in the 3rd quarter. During a commercial break, saw him talking some smack with one of the Titans' OL. Nothing big, but the ref obviously overheard it & walked over, and they both walked back to their sides. I love this guy, but he can't do it all himself.
-- Ekeler - coaches finally figured out that they needed to get him more involved in the offense. Need to sign him long-term, he's earned it.
-- Henry - so glad to have him back. Made some great catches yesterday.
-- I loved seeing the creativity in finding ways to get Ekeler the ball, but it highlights that MW is not living up to expectations. There's a huge falloff after Allen & Henry. Even saw MG being sent out wide.
-- Guess the plan is for MG to start, JJ to backup when he comes back, and mix in creative ways to get Ekeler involved. But in reality, MG is just an average running back. What I saw yesterday looked like Ryan Mathews. Can't find holes, can't follow blockers, and can't get to the outside fast enough. Mind you, I know the run blocking isn't great, but he just doesn't have it.
-- Unfortunately, last year was the peak for this core group of players. There are just too many holes. We'll be picking in the top 5.
