A Question I Need Answered Regarding Our Kicker Situation

When I was on my forum hiatus after '17 season we cut loose Josh Lambo. I thought he was a solid kicker at the time and he is doing a solid job for the Jag's. Why did we let him walk? I could never find a reason.

That being said, I'm as happy with our kicking situation since John "chili con" Carney. The "Money Badger" is damn good. Then you have our punter Long. I would sign him to a long term deal. When your punter can come in and go 7/9.... The football gods felt bad after the Younghoe Koo debacle. But HEY! A trick shot got him paid.

I dont think it would take much to get Lambo cut. If a guy came along and showed any promise it could have happened and it did. And my guess is that the Raider game had something to do with it. His kickoffs were also short werent they? From a play point of view i think they probably made a mistake letting him go. But had they not they would have never found Money Badger. Who i really like and think could end up being better.

Now that you have your answer can i just move this into a more rubust discussion regarding our special teams? lol I didnt want to bum you out. But this was more a random thought sort of thread. Josh Lambo sucked big time at that time... he only got better after that.

for me it was less they cut Lambo, who I thought was getting steadily more reliable, it was WHO they cut him for. that was an epic face plant. Yoo, Yi, whatever his name was - he hadn't kicked a single FG in even a single PS game when they decided to keep him. and if I recall, he missed an EP.

that was moronic. Then they compounded it by blaming the punter, who also had gone from being poor to being a solid NFL punter. redonkulus. although our new punter is the best we have had in a long time.

From what I remember hearing, Lambo was pretty immature and pretty unprofessional (lazy) and that rubbed a lot of teammates and coaches the wrong way. Getting cut looks like it was the slap in the face he needed to get more serious about things.
