Who cares? I'd be surprised if Rivers returns this year, there is no need to make a change on a lost season. We'll break out more minutes for young players and see who sticks and who is a goner. No need for unnecessary drama on terrible season

Big deal. Wentz only started two seasons in college and only seven games his senior year. Stick had 980 pass attempts to Wentz' 612. Of course he is going to have more yards. Not the feat some think it is at small school U

I thought Stick showed a lot in the PS, playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers...imagine giving him a week of reps with our starters...you might be surprised...and he's got the mobility to scramble out of trouble and extend drives...something Rivers doesn't have...

He don't have the head. Stick looked like shit as well in preseason against third strangers. I see no upside to playing him this year.

I actually imagine him with the starters playing awful

It looked like Rivers completely lost it tonight. Ball had no zip. Poor accuracy and poor decisions. Got bailed out of two INT’s by the refs. Still threw 3. Think about it. He threw 5 passes that the Raiders caught. 3 to Harris.

most premier athletes say that there’s a moment when they realize they don’t have it anymore. Tonight was that moment for Rivers.

Rivers had a terrible night but c'mon - you can't blame him for Henry falling down on the pick 6 and on one of the "bailed out" interceptions, the DB was mugging Allen and not looking and the ball bounced up into the air and was picked. That would not have been an interception without the pass interference. Neither of those were Rivers fault. Now the other 3...

It's time to move on. As bad as the offensive line is, Rivers doesn't help. To start with, he's a statue with limited mobility. He also puts the offensive line at a disadvantage with the constant shifting and panicking at the last second to get the ball snapped.

Imagine having to worry about the assignment in front you of when the QB behind you is constantly distracting you with his panicky moves and compounding that with a D that knows when the ball will be snapped because you've waited to the last possible moment to snap it.

How can you have good leverage against the coming onslaught when your QB has already managed to unbalance you before the ball is even snapped?

Sure it works when there's no pressure and there's plenty of time but as soon as the pressure comes on, all hell breaks loose.

We like to say the offensive line makes Rivers play bad, that's true but that goes both ways because Rivers makes our offensive line worse.

That being said, the "Never Rivers" crew here will defend him to the end no matter what. For the record, I think our D sucks, coaching is mediocre to bad and our offensive line is bad but I also can admit that our QB will never be a great when it matters most and has been bad for the most part this season and is most likely done.

Unlike others here, I don't have an agenda other than wanting a team that can win a superbowl. That doesn't exist with what we have now, including our QB.

Agree but the decisions to throw deep in the last series with 3 timeouts was terrible. Just needed a FG. Get us there and let Badgely be the hero or not. But even had Rivers done that and Badgely missed, Rivers would get the heat here.

                  He didn't play well though.

Wow, what overreactions. We've seen this for YEARS. Rivers went Rivers. To act like he's "lost it" is ridiculous. He's done this over and over. In 2012 (I believe) he did it like 5 or 6 times.

This is what he's always been. This was not an anomaly.

And the O-line is expectedly bad, but cripes, look at who's out there.

                      New OC, same results.

Yep...this is a good point that has not really been brought up--the confusion Rivers brings to the O-line with his frequent audibles--and lots of times, there could well be confusion on blocking assignments and routes due to the last minute changes. Then, the allowing the clock to wind down to 1 tick left, so the rushers can totally tee off.

So you're saying he shouldn't audible? Peyton Manning's OL didn't seem to have a problem with it maybe our OL are stupid?

Sounds like an excuse to me. You don't say stuff like this when we win only when we lose, you bring up these type of lame excuses and negative Rivers comments and keep banging the drum for guys like Easton Stick who is nowhere near ready to even think about calling an audible.
