I am just going to say it - Tom Telesco is not good at his job. Between time working as an intern to bottom level jobs to the Colts for many years and now his 9th year with the Chargers - that is close to 25 years in and around the NFL. He doesn't have it.
Some want him gone yesterday and some want to part ways with him at the end of the year.

For the rest, TT will be on the hot seat coming into next season: the team has to perform up to a certain expectation (AFC west championship is a low bar).
Let him work together with this coaching staff one last off season. That is probably his position.

As of now, the heralded last draft has whittled down to Slater & maybe Samuel, with no one else showing much.
This is pretty much par for the course with TT. Everyone here would have selected Slater.
Feiler was a good free agent signing: a few here where in on Feiler.

TT needs to hit on a day one, two & three pick next year, or have some from the past finally push through.

In Tom Telesco's nine drafts for the Chargers (excluding THIS year-- too early to judge), he's made seven selections in the 3rd round. Five of the seven were squandered.

      2014 O/OG Chris Watt

      2015 CB Craig Mager

      2016 OL Max Tuerk

      2017 OG Dan Feeney

      2019 OT Trey Pipkins

In 2013-- his first as Chargers GM-- Telesco selected Keenan Allen in the 3rd round. In 2018, it was DL Justin Jones.

Needless to say, Telesco's 'hit rate' on third rounders is piss poor, and his 1st and 2nd rounders include more disappointments than not-- Fluker, Verrett, Tillery, T'eo, Attaochu, Perryman, Lamp.

This is not a draft track record you build a winner on.

fourth rounders - traded three of them in draft day trades and none of the three players got a second contract

one player drafted, Perry from Ohio State lasted a year and is now out of football. has been for two years

Feeney was the best of the bunch above.

Its just a lousy record. He has a bunch of cap space and a bunch of draft picks. Personally, I would let a new GM take a crack with all that capital as he has shown he doesn't know what the the hell he is doing

Id agree if you can show me other GMs that have done better because i think everyone would be surprised that other GMs are missing on 3rd and mid round picks just as often.

Lets go right to the Ravens from 2014 and compare who have been pretty good at drafting right?

          2014 thru 2019 3rd rounders:

2014 CB Terrence Brooks , Crocket Gilmore TE

          2015 DT Carl Davis

          2016 DE Bronson Kaufusi

2017 DE Chris Wormley, OLB Tim Wiliams

2018 OT Orlando Brown jr, TE Mark Andrews

2019 DE Jaylin Ferguson, WR Miles Boykin

Alot more picks, lot of misses.

Been sayin this for years.TT is just not the guy to build a championship caliber team.We need to want more instead of settling for safe.Honestly he needs to go along with most of Spanos' "scouts".This might be a bigger problem then expected.

And yet they picked enough good players to be a playoff team most years.

FA and first rounders helps like every team. But even the Raven have bust 1st rounders like Breshard Perriman but have mostly done well there. I see a lot of nobodies in their 3rd rounds there. OBJ isnt there anymore as one of their productive 3rd rounders.

For me Telesco is drafting ok, its his inability to make key trades and both acquiring players and trading away getting draft picks that is his weak areas. Drafting wise he isnt doing any worse than other GMs imo.

I think this is fair as there are other ways to acquire talent than just the draft. Like you said, can make trades, can use free agency, etc. The overall product though shows the record - and its under .500 with two play-offs in 8 years.

Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

                      - 69-74 record
                      - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
                      - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
                      - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
                      - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
                      - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
                      - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

Telesco is now 66-73 as GM in nine seasons. Mike Mayock is 21-22 in three seasons.

Below is a look around the league at the winning percentage of all GMs.
