Rivers was 7 for 7 in completions in 4 th qtr. the defense was still drinking their coffee in first qtr. a great defense would have held a rookie Qb to 0 TD. We have 2 first rd pass rushers, a first rd DT. James, philips back at safety. How do you not confuse a Rookie QB?

The creativity of defeat never ends.

I blame HC...we have been very sloppy and disjointed.
Was it that creative a loss?
That 4th down and short play where we line up with Watt in backfield and Rivers runs up to the line Hut hut hut I'm going to snap it hut hut... no you're not.
If he was going to actually hike it, it wouldn't be until there's one second left, like everyone in the stadium knew.
But gutlessness to no surprise we kick, and then the D of course couldn't prevent a kid in his first game from setting up the winning score.

        It surprised me.
Everybody, even James Lofton, was wondering how Lock would hold up in Overtime.

Yeah. OK Tony. We've seen this movie before.
We do not play modern football.

Just Lock's play, or that we lost?

This isn't down there with the Hochuli game, or the Unmentionable one's career best game we lost at Pile High to Gus Frerotte and his 4 INTs.
This one seemed more MehCoy-like. Sort of like sun dried dog poop on the side walk.

I don't get any of this.

The other team gets paid too. Lock made some plays. Does the other team get any credit.

The most impactful plays were Chargers turnovers

I don't care what team it is in NFL vs any other team.
You toss an Interception on a screen pass that sets up the opponent at the 18yd line. And muff a punt that sets up an opponent at the 21yd line.

You probably will lose the game.

You don't get a lot of possession in a game. And squandering two of them that sets up the opponent to score is a bad recipe for success.

There was no choke. They lost.
Who has it better than us?

U confuse a rook QB by blitzing...oh, but wait a minute, Gus hardly ever blitzes...never mind...

We blitzed on 25% of our defensive snaps yesterday. The problem is it led to no sacks and not even a single QB hit.

So, maybe the issue is that Gus is not dialing up blitz packages that are creative enough...

It's pretty sad when you have 2 elite DEs and are going against a bad offensive line minus a starter, against a rookie QB and blitz that much and don't get a single QB hit in 28 pass attempts. Conversely, the Broncos did not have their best 2 rushers in Miller and Chub and still managed 3 sacks and 6 QB hits in 29 pass plays. Something very, very wrong with both schemes.
