The seem to really like playing for him.
I think the FO really like him too.
“One thing that’s very clear about Anthony Lynn is he’s a leader. He’s a natural-born leader,” John Spanos said.
Lynn thinks like Lombardi. And he relates to him.
“I didn’t know he (Lombardi) coached running backs forever. I didn’t know he felt discriminated against because he was Italian — everyone was passing him up. Then he becomes an OC for a year and becomes the best coach ever,” Lynn said. “I just identified with him. I loved his concepts and his philosophies. Those things you can still can coach today. Those things don’t get outdated.”
Inside his office at the team’s new facility in Costa Mesa, in the corner of a window that faces out to manicured green grass, there’s a reminder of the formula Lynn wants to use.
On the right, there’s a picture of the Lombardi that people most commonly remember — fedora, spectacles and a toothy grin. And next to the image are these words, one of Lombardi’s most famous quotes: “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.”
I don't care about Xs and Os geniuses. I want a great leader at HC. We have that in Lynn.
If Chargers FO are smart. They stick with him through think and thin.
Have the will to do it.
Stay with Lynn. Don't panic. Don't change course.
Then have the will to go get Joe Burrow.

Leadership is important. BUT, X's and O's are ALSO important. Lynn may well have the WILL to keep sending Gordon, or whoever, up the gut repeatedly for nada, but it also takes some intelligent play design to misdirect the other team and spring him for some decent yardage...
If I was a player I’d like Lynn also, job security.
baby Spanos wouldn’t know a leader if it landed on his lap.
my dad’s a big Lombardi fan and a great leader (Navy) and I still wouldn’t want him as HC.
