Not quite. I listed the "ugh" players. There are also the "SEMI-ugh" players: Gordon and Castillo didn't quite measure up to 1st round expectations, for different reasons. Cromartie was brilliant at times, but his production fell off in latter years before he was traded. Tillery has not exactly impressed so far, so he is still unproven. So, it's more like about only HALF of our first round picks have panned out to be true first rounders...

Castillo is very much under rated here: his problem was health. I re watched a playoff game and he stood out. Guy could be dominant.

Verrett was a great pick - he had outstanding skills. You can't call a guy a bad pick because he had injuries. When a team is drafting they pick according to what they see, they can't see into the future and say I'll pass on this guy because I know someday he'll have injury problems.

I'll add this - it's likely that all teams have as many "misses" on first round picks as we have had - drafting is not an exact science.

Great talent but undersized. Could play through injuries in college but not at NFL level.

            • Washington released RB Derrius Guice.

Guice was released following his domestic violence-related arrest. Washington is cutting ties with Guice, but this is another bad look for an organization that's been under fire this offseason. With Guice gone, Washingotn will move forward with Bryce Love and rookie Antonio Gibson competing with Adrian Peterson for snaps. Guice will be facing a minimum six-game suspension if he lands a second chance.

Mine too. Ugh. Still makes me ill to think about it. Could you imagine having Polamalu on the defense during the prime LT years when the Bolts were a perennial playoff team that couldn't get over the hump?

I liked Verrett a lot and agree he was actually a good pick just unfortunate injuries derailed his career.

Hard to believe was on the roster for 5 seasons, even on year into the Telesco era. I've never seen a player hang around for so long while accomplishing so little.

I’m usually not interested in NFL drama but has anyone kept up with the Mahomes vs Allen arm strength contest?
anyone else think Herby can offer them both a challenge?

At the combine he was throwing 9’s and corner routes 55-58 yards by a flick of the wrist and grinning after.

I see his longest throws in highlights come off effortlessly
I can’t imagine how far they could go if he really put mustard on it.

Jatavis Brown - signed with the Eagles in the offseason
                          retired today

His rookie year, started strong. Daniel Jeremiah thought he was going to be a solid pro. Never really materialized.
