The new model is roughly the old model: guys who earn the respect of the players through a standard of character, confidence, wisdom and maturity.
The guys who come in as impersonal ass kickers and disciplinarians,.....they don't last long during any era.

Is Belichick one of those few assholes who has succeeded? Jim Brown talks about how Belichick was one of the few to go to the inner city and talk to the youth in one of his programs.

I think the NFL wants to rid the NFL of toxic personalities like Meyer and Gruden and will put pressure on the Kahn like they put pressure on Mark Davis.

Same here but i came around after reading things ghost kept posting about him.

I did mention Brian Shott as a possibility which im sure wasnt popular and i even said that lol,...... but ill say this about him. When he was the Seahawks OC, Carroll fired him because they had differences in philosophy and it was said Caroll wanted to run more? I think thsts what was said.

However, this season the Seahawks offense is MUCH worse than last year and seems B. Shott got the best of the players there. They are no where near as good on offense.

Dont know if he is ready to be a HC or not but i didnt like many names associated with our HC search last year and glad we picked Staley.

I really wasn't impressed with most of the candidates actually, I still have no idea why Joe Brady was interviewed over Bowles or a Jim Caldwell. But the Jaguars get another HC to pick. Khans record as owner is .290% - thats horrible.

Yep...the liability issue alone for exposure to lawsuits is why I think teams are jettisoning toxic coaches...not to mention the adverse publicity...
