      Funny you should mention this.

Today there's an article on the Ringer about QBs going number one overall and how often they are the best QB in the class.

Trevor Lawrence is the most sought-after QB prospect since Andrew Luck. For as much as he seems like a sure thing, though, history suggests he may not even be the best quarterback in the 2021 class.

Yes we could name many, like JaMarcus, etc. QB is a valued possition and those players have been getting over drafted for years.
Now David Carr never got a fair shake as Casserly never got him even a decent OL and made him so gun shy he opted to be a backup behind Eli lol.
But yes, he was over drafted too.

          That is an interesting article.
And as bad as the QB class was last year, 2013 takes the cake. EJ Manuel went number one while the best QB of that class according to that article has been Gino Smith

The Brownies nightmare started on a Couch and finally just ended with a Baker

Bad QBs get GMs and HCs fired. QB is more important than the next 3 guys on your roster. Of course QBs get over-drafted if you blindly ignore the difference in position importance. If you account for importance, they don’t get over-draft at all. Many get drafted that can’t play at elite NFL level, but that happens in many positions, we just don’t notice as much ...

... because they aren’t the QB.

                  :chuckle:

Marty had more success with the Browns than Belicheat. Things that make you go hmmmmm.
So no only did Art Modell fire Belicheat, he then moves the team to Baltimore.
Oh I know...Belicheat got to pick his own players, and most importantly lucked into Brady in NE.
Still one of the best ever though, as mentioned many times before the only thing he isn't the best at is drafting.

Things I dislike about the modern NFL. This is #4.

I was re-watching some early 1980s Chargers games, after a change of possession, CBS went to a commercial break. They were allowed :60 for two commercials, then a :10 promo, then back to the game.

                    1) Thursday Night Football
                    2) 17 game schedule
                    3) Commercial break lengths
                    4) Renaming rights

Just had to vent, feel much better. Thanks for indulging me.

On a positive note, Arrowhead is the best-smelling parking lot in the league. Love it.

                      couldn't agree more

I shall choose not to identify with GEHA and continue to simply call it Arrowhead.
My only Chargers game ever was there the year the Chiefs went 1-15 with something like 6 pro bowlers on the team because they had no QB.
Chargers blew them out but then came Reid and the rest is history.

As expected, the Steelers and Ben Rothlisberger redo his contract. Goes from 41 mil cap to 15 and added another four years that are voidable.
