I would bring up the 49ers as proof that no defense can shut down the chiefs, so the ONLY way to beat them is to out-score them with a great offense...... and a great QB...... we are not going to out-score anyone with Taylor at QB....... our only win against chiefs came because we scored and gambled on a 2 pointer to out score them..... Reid has built the perfect offense to take advantage of todays offensive oriented rules......

Problem is if we dont trade up we are not getting one of the only 2 elite passing QB's in the draft.... all of the other QB's including Hebert have major flaws in accuracy and decision making..... drafting Brown or Okudah will not help us beat the chiefs uniess we have an elite QB to score over 30 points.....

Very high risk stakes here...trade up for someone like Burrow, if possible...yes...Tua...no...
A 500 dollar clunker of a car can get you from point a to b..... an old gun made in the 1800's can still kill someone if you shoot them in the head just as easily as a dirty harry .44 magnum......
in the NFL you absolutely need to, and should, go into debt if necessary so it does the same functional job as a ferrari...... unless you need to win a race...then you need to mortgage future and buy the expensive sports/race car........
Chargers NEED to get an elite QB.... otherwise you are wasting your time and never will get a championship...... fact is most of the SB's in history were won by ELITE QB's.........

and absolutely our priority is to win division, and in order to win division we must beat the chiefs........
The 49ers have an elite OL and an elite DL and they could not beat the chiefs because their QB was not elite........

Last Superbowl, the NE defense have muzzled the dangerous Rams attack.
It's no more true that defense wins championship ?

You build your team with mostly BPA...and if we build the team right, we give ourselves the best chance of being competitive...imagine what a game changer it would be to have Simmons lining up in the box next to Derwin...rather have him @6 than reach for a gimpy QB or a raw QB with question marks...Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

While there's no doubting Tua's talent, when you look at his injury history, and especially that last serious hip injury, it's several red flags following by a BIG red flag. Look at all of Tua's injuries so far:
March 2018: Tua Tagovailoa breaks his finger
October 2018: Tua Tagovailoa suffers knee injury
November 2018: Quad injury keeps Tua out of a game
December 2018: Tua Tagovailoa injures his left ankle
Against Tennessee, Tua Tagovailoa suffers another ankle injury
November, 2019: Tagovailoa suffered a dislocated hip with a posterior wall fracture

On that last injury, there's more cause for concern:
"It’s the potential complications that make predicting a complete or full recovery back to pre-injury conditions difficult to determine at the moment.
“The thing that makes it uncertain is that when the hip dislocates and it fractures off part of the cup part of the hip joint,” Lowe explained Saturday, “(and) sometimes it disrupts the blood supply to the end of the femur — the lower leg part of the hip joint.”
That is what is called avascular necrosis (AVN) and is what forced legendary Auburn running back Bo Jackson to retire from both football and baseball in the early 1990s, and eventually led to severe arthritis and the need for a hip replacement at the age of 29."
Sorry, Tua looks like damaged goods to me, with a high likelihood of injury in the future.

You know that, and have irresponsibly left that out here.
Of course there is some cause for concern, which is why TT will be diligent.

Size-You didn't list this one. He is small...that can be overcome, but by him? I don't know...he has a lot of injury miles already, and just coming out of college.
Don't get me wrong...a warrior, and I don't question his mettle or leadership...but tough? He didn't hold up in college, how will he do in the pros...mentally tough, yes...physically? Only so much he can play thru...prefer a guy who isn't playing thru anything...sigpic
