    Defense wasn't that great though.
Bet you AL wants to recreate the 1-2 punch of Shady-Karlos,
which he had for a while in BUF.

This was when Tyrod was viable.

    Ekeler- ??
We do not play modern football.

Not sure what year you're referring to, but their 2017 roster had no one you listed other than Shady, who was in the midst of his last decent season and an underachieving Clay. Their OL was solid, but their D was 26th overall. Outside of OL (so far), it wasn't nearly as good of a team as these Chargers currently are on paper.

Tolbert and Cadet backed up Shady in '17 and Tyrod was their #2 rusher. And their WR's were Kelvin Benjamin, Zay Jones, Deonte Thompson and Jordan Matthews. A bunch of hot fucking garbage. :dunno:

This post just goes to sort of prove my point that folks aren't really looking at the whole picture when it comes to Tyrod.

*edit* You must be referring to the 2015 season, the only season that Karlos played NFL football. They were 8-8 and missed the PO's that year.

You are right. I was looking at the 2015 roster. Much better than the 2017 offense but somehow they won 1 more game. Must if been the defense. Hec their WRs were crap in 2017.

I am interested to see how dynamic we are with Tyrod, but pretty sure that Lynn is very confident in him.

I'm hoping it's a 1 year deal with him as a starter and he is a great mentor for Tua!

It'll be a fun year and I'm sure the coaches will use a lot of concepts that Baltimore is using.

You know that 26th ranked D was winning games for them left and right. :whistlin:

And yeah, their 3rd WR would have had a hard time beating out Benjamin's sorry ass. Their top 2 receivers were Clay with 558 and Shady with 448, barely cracking 1k combined. :facepalm1:

OL was the only place where they were good that year.

We won’t even ask Tyrod to do much. All he gotta do is milk the clock on offense with 5-10 yard plays. Keep our top 3 defense fresh. Only way Tyrod Fs this up is if we start asking him to make tight window throws.

I'm all for looking at the whole picture as you say.

But why are we ignoring his 2018 season.

If we're going to look at the whole picture we shouldn't cherry pick his good seasons and ignore the bad seasons.

You mean the season he was set up to fail? Awesome...

How often do #1 overall QB's sit behind the "vet", especially one that is also just joining the team?

He was in a shitty position, with an offense that didn't play to his strengths.

                      Ok let’s.

First game against the Steelers with a a solid, solid defense.

195 yards 37.5% cmp 1 td 1 int. Sacked 7 times. 8 rush 77 yards 1 td. If Rivers was sacked 7 times you wouldn’t blame him. You’d blame the line in front of him. Yet this game ended in a tie.

Second game against the Saints. Team that was one non-call away from making the SB.

246 yards 73.3% cmp 1 td 1 int. Sacked 3 times. 4 rush 26 yards. Looks like he bounced back. They lost by a FG.

Third game against the lowly Jets. You really gonna count this against him? He only played a bit and got injured. Who knows how the rest of the game would have played out?

                      19 yards 28.6% cmp 0 td 0 int. Sacked 3 times. 4 rushed 22 yards.

Keep in mind, this is an offense tailored for Mayfield.

I've provided plenty of Tyrod hype.

Why don't you make the case for why it did fit him, since that seems to be your angle?
