Herbert threw mostly short passes last season. Tons of 0 to 5 yards throws. Did you mean Tyrod?

Hill should be a good fit for that type of offense. Lots of quick swings, short outs, short crosses, maybe some quick screens...

I keep waiting to hear he just had a surgery, or a flagged drug test or something...I just assumed there was a good reason he dropped. Turns out he has short arms and smallish catch radius...lol. In a deep WR class, the scouts nit picked a hell of a receiver right down to us in the seventh. Really happy with the adds we made to the receiving corps. This guy is gonna catch a lot of balls for us.The TPB makes plans....
And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

I actually think Hill is going to be more of the Wes Welker, super quick guy who takes short passes and gets a lot of YAC. He also creates a huge amount of separation for a WR who runs the speed of a RB. I do think he is a bit faster than his 4.6 40, but he is a one speed guy, so he is never going to be a Travis Benjamin guy who runs past a FS when they get caught flat footed. Hill may juke the guy out of his jock making a cut, and get by, but he isn't going to just run by someone, like a speed guy potentially do.
He is getting knocked by some for not being a big catch radius guy (he's not 6'4" or 6'5" , but Tyrell Williams was big, had a really nice big catch radius and he never won jump balls, really couldn't catch anything outside his frame, or win contested ball from the DB. Hill is a guy who is going to maximize his catch radius, he catches everything and adjust to some poorly thrown passes, wins contested passes and plucks some bad passes.
I think he fell, because there are a lot of slot guys out there, and this year especially, there are so many good WR, teams could be pretty picky. I think if you just watch him play, he is a much better guy, but years like this teams discount guys like him because there are so many good choices.
