      The worst thing that could happen to Rivers other than Harris to LT is our 3rd down backs Woodhead and Brown go down at the same time. Then You all will see why Mathews is not a bellcow back. Pass protection is important and on third down especialy.

        In truth, Mathews never got 20+ carries because he needs to take his game to the next level before that happens. Last year, not as much, but his rookie year and his 2nd year, he seemed like he was always on the verge. For the very negative crowd, I understand why they think he won't take that step up, but I do think he is on the edge and that this might be the year.

            It looks a lot like committee to me, McGahee did go down with the knee injury, but he appeared in 10 games, so I don't think it's too far off.
